Slow developing player, doesent do much. Would he be worth a trade?

No, he'll come good. He has the goods to become a very good player, just needs some muscle. Remember he's only about 20 and at 192cm, he'll take some time, but I can honestly see him taking Kingsley's role in another year or 2, only not so wasteful.

Superbly skilled player but need's more strength. Is definately 192cm. Will be a hard player to match up on once he get's half a body with his height and mobility.

HE may well do, but i think then our forward line would be WAY to tall. Ottens, Playfair (sorry jack, he is staying), NA, Tom Hawkins, Kingsly (maybe)

In Kingsley's mind he's a small man, Sees himself as more of a 188cm player than the 193cm player he really is.

The team wouldn't always play with all those guys in the forward line at the same time. It will take Hawkins a couple of seasons to become a permanent fixture. Nathan is more suited to FF at the moment but as he gets fitter his mobility will come to the fore and (from what I've read from people who have seen him play) could become a tall, midfield option in the Pavlich/Mooney mould.

There will be times when Ottens goes into the Ruck, when players need a rest or are out with injury. Gary Jnr, Chapman and Mackie (despite being 192cm tall) are excellent when the ball hits the ground and should be spending a lot of time up forward.

Just my 2 cents worth.

Mackie is a player for the future and it would come back to haunt Geelong if they traded him

Hawkins is already a big dude... he's going to be almost AFL-ready by the time '07 rolls around.

Even so, he'll probably take at least a year to get used to the tempo and the increased physicality of the game.

And on the topic of our future forward line, I think N.Ablett will probably play at FF starting either next year or the year after and then move out to CHF, with Mackie taking Kingsley's position in another year or 2, so ideally in about 4 years time we'll have Ablett at CHF, Hawkins at FF and Mackie as a third, more mobile, tall. But for now we'll have H at CHF, Kingsley at FF and Ottens in a pocket, perhaps with N.Ablett as well in there in the other pocket or on a flank.

As long as Blake, Spencer and Egan progress well, we should have about 7 or 8 years of being a top 4 side.

Hard to judge by your comments A man but have you seen him play? For my opinon he is a forward, not a mid. He is unlikely to hav the engine for endurace after all he is an Ablett.Anyway , why would you waste him on the ball he offers far more as a forward

Probably need a skillful goalkicking quick midfielder to top them off. I believe that will be gary junior if they play him there. I would draft a couple of small forwards and send ablett and chapman into the midfield.
