Macleod 2nd's,
Obviously a raw nerve with some people on the D2 thread, so we'll keep this space for Macleod people to communicate.

Good to see the slant gone at De Winton. Don't think we will see any home ground action until Round 14, but the NFL seem to think we will
be able to play the last 5 games at home.

Thanks to those who came to the Golf Day last Friday. Very impressed
with the amount of cans that were drunk on the front 9 holes, considering
the 1st can was cracked before 7.00 am ! What were you guys thinking.

Looking to arrange another one in April or May on a weekend so watch this space.

Don't forget the Sportman's night at Watsonia RSL on the 13th March.
Nathan Buckley, Kevin Sheedy, Barry Michaels all on the panel.
Tickets $100 pp - organise your table now as it will sell out.

Apart from that - nothing else to report except that Kingy's clearance was rejected by the NFL. Seeking legal advice at this point in time.

Adios amigos

This thread is flying...

It's a shame about kingy's clearance being knocked back by the ferrals on southern rd but hopefully the NFL will step in on the matter because he certainly has the ability to tear d2 a new arseh*le.

God you macleod w***ers are so far up your selves get your facts right, the NFL did not knock back King's clearance it was North Heidelberg as he is a contracted player , so get all the dam legal advice you want w***ers....you will need it.....and strange kingy trained the kennel last week. The sooner the NFL step in and piss off div 2 and make them div 1 reserve sides the better the comp will be.:)

Yeh I gotta agree with Shoestring there. If its one thing that North Heidelberg know its Legal Advice...

Epping learnt the hard way what kind of reputation you get if you don't clear players that clearly want to leave. It would be a shame to see north go down the same path.

Update on the Sportsman's Night...Bucks can't make it after the NAB Cup GF was switched to the same night as the AFL did not want to clash with the Bushfire Appeal concert at the 'G. Luke Darcy will be a top replacement...maybe he can talk up some netball with our new team.

Former champion Western Bulldogs ruckman and now high-profile media commentator LUKE DARCY will be joining Macleod Football Club’s ‘Night With The Stars’ replacing Nathan Buckley who, due to the NAB Cup Grand Final being switched from March 14 to March 13, is unable to attend. Luke will join Kevin Sheedy, Barry Michael and MC Stephen Phillips.
Tickets ($100) include a two-course meal, beer, wine, champagne and soft drink ... other drinks at bar prices.
There will be heaps of memorabilia including framed jumpers signed by Nathan Buckley, Chris Judd, Luke Hodge, Brent Harvey, Matthew Richardson, Nick Riewoldt, Brent Stanton, Michael Hurley and the 1996 North Melbourne premiership team. There will also be signed and framed poster-size photographs of Lance Franklin, Jimmy Bartel, Robert Harvey, Chris Judd, James Hird/Kevin Sheedy and a special tribute to Tony Lockett’s goalkicking record. Other memorabilia includes Peter Brock, Bart Cummings, cricket, and stars of the music industry.
You can also win a dinner for 8 cooked at your house by one of Melbourne’s leading chefs.
And there will be a large screen showing the NAB Cup Grand Final.
Bookings can be made via Jeff Sayers on 0421 585373 or email jeff.sayers@stoweaustralia.com.au

NO BUCKS The tickets should only be $80 now = ripped off. Ohh yeah this thread is gayer than Macleod.

Does anyone know where Macleod will be playing home games this season as yet? Hopefully a really good venue ( large , well grassed surface) can be found not some of the dumps to be found in the Banyule Council area- Heidelberg Park would be OK I would have thought. Will be great to eventually have a reasonable oval for the boys to play on- just in time for a Division One entry!!!

half the games to be played at Heidelbergs ground and the other halfs at Wests ground. JC still to work out finer detail with west and hfc as to what facilities macleod can use on game day, he also is still working on a training venue.

Yep - not so strange the Jarrod is training back at North. I'd have done the same thing with the amount of bucks being touted around.

I hope he has a great year again at the Doggies coz it will be his last !

Rip-off eh? We have almost 200 coming, great night assured with Sheeds, Barry Michael, Darc and Stephen 'The Wonder' Phillips. Enjoy your pie night at whatever tin-pot club you are involved in. At least we are trying to do things in style off the field.

Well done Underbelly (and Mrs UB). Will toast the little one tonight.

Thanks mate .....and love the smart new looking hair do.

Congrat's on great night. Barry Michael was easliy the best speaker but a bit ambitious to be asking $500 for the memorabilia. Sheeds was also good to hang around for most of the night.

Word has it the Bucks will be doing the $10k draw in June. Can you confirm this ?

Had a look at the intraclub yesterday & what I saw impressed. Due to a combination of recruiting & return from injury there will be around eight to ten different players coming into the side from last years GF. Looking fwd to the practice match v Eltham on April 4.

My mail told me that it was an average game with no standouts.....
Intraclub games don't really tell you too much.

Eltham hitout will give a better indication

Underbelly - I'm not sure what your involvement is at Macleod but the council/league have scheduled two matches at Warringal Park due to the work being done at De Winton (rounds 2 & 6). We will need to bring a few of your committee in to discuss the formalities etc...

whats macleods 19z looking lyk this year? by far had the best team last season but were beatable.. 19z was alot closer than what it looked just some teamz executed much better than others..

All Macleod supporters note that the practice match this Saturday v Kilsyth will now be played at Seddon Reserve, West Ivanhoe (not at Kilsyth as previously advertised). Under 19s @ 10am, reserves @ noon, seniors @ 2pm. Melway 31 C7, off Green St. New merchandise and season memberships on sale with EFTPOS facility. Thanks to West Ivanhoe CC.

Had a look at yous guys yesterday and was pretty impressed. Should be out of yous and Diamo for sure. One thing i did notice was that number 8 (big tall fella) got in to some good position on his own infront of goal but was ingnored and the ball was kicked to 50/50s. He could be dangerous if used properly.

Heard on the grapevine that a couple of very important cousins both got injured yesterday? One a former comp BnF winner. Could the wheels be fallin off already?

wheels falling off.. ha ha whishfull thinking... without sounding like underbelly i think the group has got stronger with the handy inclusions and should be there abouts come the end of the season.

Today was a bit of a thrill for all Macleod supporters with Michael Hurley making his debut for the bombers. Obviously they lost but he clearly beat Tredrea. His parents were interviewed pre match as well. He would be the first player in a long, long time to have played in the senior side then go on to the top level.
