Dressing up as a person of a different race and attempting to make your body look like them is never racist.

Unless ofcourse you go with negative stereotypes, or behave in a specifically racist manner.

Well, this is where we differ. Are you trying to tell me that Lisle made his 'body' look anything like LeBron James? I don't know what he looks like, off the top of my head, but I'd say it's a fair bet that his own skin complexion is closer to LeBron James' than the one he ultimately went with.

He painted himself jet black and looked like something out of a horror show. The inference is that Lisle figured that 'LeBron James is African American and that's what they look like' essentially.

Well when the mods sanctions all the hate towards Geelong in any main board threads, and bans Geelong posters responding to the dribble you wonder why we are defensive.

You've obviously never worn 'dark' body paint. I went to a party as Jimmy Hendrix once, and looked very similar.
Not one person had a problem with me dressing as a dark skinned person, and my sudanese friend had no issue with it.

Its very difficult to not get it to look dark poo brown. Trust me.
He didnt deliberately go this colour to offend african americans.

There are 4 million issues more pressing than apparent racism through dressups.

He could have just got a spray tan or got some of that DIY muck that women use and made his complexion a few shades darker than it is normally. That would have worked and everyone would have got the joke.

There are 4 million issues more pressing than pretty much anything that has ever been brought up on this forum. But, being an AFL forum, I'd suggest about 3,999,970 would not be relevant here.

Spray tan makes you orange, it doesnt get you any closer to the colour of an african american. And so whats the difference in doing that and doing the body paint? You're totally missing the point.
