Apparently you can't turn off accelerated clock, in the franchise mode at least. Really annoys me for some reason and it's something I always turned off in previous versions. Hate it immensely :thumbsd::mad:
 
Recieved word that i have had a package delivered..... my fingers and toes are crossed that it is Madden 12 :D and not something else. Would be the fastest delivery from play-asia.... well since the last time i ordered from them a few months ago (Mortal Kombat, which also came in 2 days).

Had a quick go at a demo kiosk, i am so pumped for it.... probably won't be much chop at it online or even against other friends (my defence SUCKS!!). I am the king of the Hail Mary though :D :p.

I have had some great lounge room contests with my friends and online others that i have had on my XBL friends list over the years (well excluding Madden 10 which i opted not to buy).
 
Ive played a number of online games now on M12, and I have to say, i highly recommend it. I'm a hater, critic of the game for years, but this one is extremely good. It's so much tighter now, people can't sprint around and 20 yards back like in the past, cant just try to sprint to the edge, etc.
 
I'm running into the old "you can't enable your online pass" problem, even though I've been with EA for ages, and have had passes with them in the past.

EA's response when I contacted them;

We are aware that some users have been experiencing difficulty redeeming an online pass for Madden 12 on the PS3. We are currently investigating this issue.

Yeah, I've entered the redeem code, the problem isn't that.

I have received a second response from EA, a few accounts that haven't played an EA game for over 6 months (like mine) are having problems.

Hopefully they fix it over the next few days, although it does give me some time to get back into the swing of Madden after skipping last years version.

On the subject i hate that no matter what you are the starting qb no matter how bad or good you are.

I just wish they went the nba 2k11 route where you have to work your way onto a team with a consistant performance for a reserve team or in this case good showings at practice and in pre season and practice games.

And on the same subject still you can throw picks every game with every throw all year and you will still be the qb why is it you cant be benched or traded i mean if they want to bring a realistic game.

Would any team no matter what sport it is realy keep playing a player who kepps giving the ball away(or whatever it may be relative to the sport) no they wouldnt they would drop them from the team or ship them out of the team all together.
 
yeh im having trouble redeeming the online pass thing too, i went to activate online pass and for some reason it wont load up and gives me an error msg saying i activate my redeem code and to go to the easports site for help :s anyone else get the same message? i might just have to play offline and wait and try again later :(

I hate Superstar mode in Madden, always have, I simply ignore it.

The best Superstar/Be a Pro mode has to be in MLB "The Show", where if you struggle at any level, you get cut and demoted to a lower minor league, or if you are a pitcher, relegated to bull pen work, even in the minors.

I simply won't even consider playing that mode in Madden, it's franchise and season modes all the way, online or off line.
 
I agree with GG that it's definitely an arcade game. All sports games, aside from management ones like Football Manager, are arcade games.

I remember speaking to Ross at EB Games about AFL Live. I asked how long the quarters had to be for realistic scores. He said 5/6 minutes would give you realistic scores. I asked if that were too short, to which he replied, "if we made the game with a realistic rate of scoring then there would have to be way more stoppages and other things and 90% of people would get too frustrated" which is fair enough.

In terms of the be a pro/superstar modes though, I don't think it is excuseable to be a starting QB even if there is a much better guy available. NBA 2k11 does this well because you play realistic minutes from the start and only get games in the big league if you perform well in the D League. The new NHL 11 game will make you play THREE WHOLE SEASONS of minor leagues before getting drafted. Now THAT is epic. I won't be playing the Madden mode for the same reason.

I had a friend tell me that there are only 5 madden moments in this year please say it isnt so madden moments one of my favourite features in the couple of previous madden games i like the idea of playing a situation instead of having to play a full game.

Eg: having to play 4 quaters possibly and possibly overtimeto try and do one objective which may be to go x amount of yards and score a touchdown or field goal or score a touch down to win the game with 1 minute left, score a touchdown and go for the 2 point conversion to win the game or to tie up the game and so on.

I find IMO madden moments is a feature that can break up the monoteny of full games,same as the mini games they are always good to kill a little bit of time if you dont feel like playing a full game.

Is there a way to use the updated rosters into franchise mode?

Downloaded the new rosters, but they don't seem to apply in franchise or just exhibition mode?
 
you have to go to file management, delete all the roster files that are named after dates, and load the CUSTOM file.
if you dont have a custom file, make some depth chart change then save it, it will call itself custom, then load it.

you basically only need two rosters: default (for all online team play), so you go to a quick OTP match, it forces you to download that roster, and automatically saves itself as DEFAULT. then do some kind of depth chart change, in the NFL ROSTERS menu, then save that, it will call itself CUSTOM. then go into file management and delete all rosters named after dates.

offline franchise, when you start one, and save it, it will end up being a FRANCHISE ROSTER.

Practice makes perfect nbaman, take a while to get into it...needa find what your good at, target the strengths of the team you play with and try catch the defence off guard with play selections. IIRC madden that long ago it didn't really matter what play you chose, now it definitely does, and also master the strategy pad, it's very rare where i don't audible a play these days
