Back to simpler times where men like women, women like men and a time of carrots, water and a good book.

I feel like this year they really tried to have a foot in both camps, in that they have selected 2-3 reasonable couples with a reasonable chance of success (so they can start saying "WE KNOW THIS WORKS" like they did in previous series).

Then they have gone out and selected the most dysfunctional/undateable people in the known universe. Jess/Ines etc are Davina on steroids, no doubt there is internal briefings where they were looking for "Davina types" to spice up the show.

Well eg Innes and Sam last night with their meeting there were at least two camera views recording it - adds an extra dimension to how scripted it is if there was a camera crew there
I can't stress this enough. It is not scripted. Not one word gets committed to paper before shooting.

As JeanLucGoddard says, the producers will tell them what to talk about but not what to say.

But different scenes require different crew.

Firstly, no one is following these people around 100% of the time. For that scene you are referring to, there is actually only one camera(we just edit good like). They just shoot for ages and get told to repeat what they have said, to get them to talk about whatever nonsense so the camera guy can get reaction from the other person.

Tonight's episode you will see the couples getting ready in their apartment (1 camera for about an hour)

Then you will see the actual dinner party (6 cameras, recording whatever they can get, for about 6 hours).

And when I say 1 camera I mean 1 camera plus sound, plus mixers, plus lighting, plus art direction, plus field producer etc etc. There is always a "crew" present.

So I hope that give you a little more insight into how it's shot. In short, shoot the shit out of it and hope something happens.

I remember my question from two days ago!

DapperJong do the MAFS cast choose their own clothes or are they "helped" in this area or is there an actual wardrobe department dressing them and they have zero say
That's one area I have no idea about. Post production does not care about clothing.

Shoot the shit out of it and hope something happens.

Same principle can apply when doing TV news too.
