i'm hitting amsterdam in aobut 3-4 weeks so i'll be getting onto the mushies... be interesting to compare them to acid. i'm pretty much expecting them to be not near as strong...

yeah its a load of crap

if you decide to take acid, take it and don't let people tell you your an idiot for doing.

1 - its not pshyically addictive, although it can be pyschologically addictive.

2 - you can't overdose. the amount of LSD required to overdose you would've been sick from eating too much paper (assuming your taking tabs). a normal tab will have between 30 micrograms to 100 micrograms. 1 microgram is one millionth of a gram. it's estimated it would take about 400,000 micrograms to overdose. that would require about 4,000 to 13,000 tabs....

i suppose you could walk in front of a truck thinking its a nice pretty light floating in your direction...

also you can trip the **** out completely, and its not a good idea to do it alone especially on your first half a dozen or so trips.

and yeah its a total mind**** but its gold if your in the right environment and it'll be over in 12 hours if your not having fun. don't expect to sleep though.

and dont let people tell you your a ******** for doing it, especially those who are happy to do any of the following; get totally paraletic to the point of passing out, smoke ciggies and/or pot, take e's, do coke, speed and/or ice.

all of those drugs have far more potential to casue short term (OD's) and long term (liver, kidney, lungs etc,.) health problems and addiction.

i was there in july and were still available i just never got around to them...

that would be really shit if that were teh case.
 
just read ab out the mushroom ban. it was in response to the death of a 17 year old french girl who jumped off a bridge while under the influence....

which from what i can gather is the second reported death in the Netherlands since mushrooms became legal in 1994.

what a ****ing joke to ban it...

just re-infornces what i said above in regards to acid and peoples feelings towards the drug which they have absolutely no idea about.

Yep... basically the parents of the 17yo pulled lots of media and shrooms ended up getting banned. It's a stupid decision as it is predominantly foreigners, in particular British (*cough* degenerates *cough*) who are hospitalised after ingesting mushrooms.
 
There needs to be a way to prevent the "mentally challenged" of our society using LSD. If a person has any brain power and puts in some research there are some benefits to LSD IMO.

agreed. there are obviousbly downsides like any drug, but acid is percieved as one of the most dangerous drugs in society when it is in actual fact one of the last dangerous in terms of illicit drugs.
 
Had a couple of experiences with mushies. Once at about 16 or 17 playing rugby when few of us in the backs were on 'em...needless to say we lost.

2nd was on my honeymoon in Thailand, crazy crazy time...at one stage I lost all basic motor functions and was like a head on a stick!! This was at a full moon party so needless to say it got kinda hectic.

Taken plenty of acid over the years. Big Day Outs from about 1996 to 2001 are all but an acid induced blur. I could tell you some stories that would have you rolling with laughter, I am sure anyone who has taken acid here could relate a few "mission" based stories!!

I have moved on and am now a well adjusted contributor to society so don't let anyone tell you that its a 100% path to destruction...we all make our own choices, unfortunately some seem to continiously make the wrong ones!
 
Acid is the most unfairly demonised drug ever. I know people who will smoke ice and heroin who think I'm crazy for experimenting with acid when I was younger.

Still never tried mushies, but met these cool dutch people when I was in asia who said if I'm ever in Amsterdam they can hook me up with mushie-chocolate bars.

Who are you? I was there in July and can certainly confirm that Mushies are available in the Dam. And sensational might I add.

Everything described on the menu came to fruition, except the Ompa Loompas, not sure where they came from

Have done a ton of other crap over the years but never touched acid/mushies for the sole reason that i feel kinda uneasy with it and am too scared ill freak out. Plenty of mates used to do it quite a lot and loved it but ive never felt comfortable doing it and that thought process would not be a good way about doing it....if that makes sense.

it's all about set and setting and yeah if you go into not feeling comfortable then you'll most probably have a bad trip. bad trips are not the most fun thing i the world i can garuantee you that. only had one real bad one and it was pretty ****ed up.

yeah i was in amsterdam again last february and they were available.

the mushies were pretty good, but not as good as acid.

on another note have found myself some pure mdma over this summer. another fantastic drug to add to the list.

I'm in the same boat as Macca here.

Done plenty of other stuff over the years but the two things I have always steered clear of are acid and mushies, only because I know myself and my mind pretty darn well and I don't think those sort of "psychoactive" drugs would mesh too well with what goes on in my brain sometimes. Hell, my mind starts going haywire if I have potent enough weed these days (haywire in the sense that I just start thinking ridiculous, paranoid sorta thoughts and it spirals from there - nothing outlandish, just stuff like "what if my missus is cheating on me", "what if I can't find a better job" etc.) so I'm very wary when it comes to acid and mushies.

Always wanted to do it once though, had plenty of chances as well but just had to say no every time.

as i said to macca if your not in the right frame of mind it'll never be a good drug to take.

With acid it's very easy for things to get out of hands, and because of the intensity and length of the drug (trip goes for about 8 hours), it's not something you just decide to do. you really have to be prepared.

it's really the only drug i've actually read about prior to taking it, and i'm so happy i did. e's, weed, coke all that sort of stuff if u don't like what's happening to you, you can kinda just ride it out...

I did them in Bali and it was one of the best experiences ive ever had. ive done my far share of drugs but mushies are up there with the best of em. Everything just looked and felt soo flipping smooth.

Big fan of the MDMA caps. At least its not like flippers, you know exactly what you are having (to a certain extent). Any Jack with Ketamine in it can be thrown straight back at the dealer.

Had a great experience with some Dutch mushrooms and cheese on toast.

Tasted good. Felt good and no hangover.

Probably have them again.
 
I had them in Amsterdam a couple of years back, was a great experience, though I advise anyone not to walk around aimlessly on them. People's faces will in the same portions amuse the hell out of you and freak you out (usually the ones who are pissed off that you are off your chops).

Do it in a park, a quiet room or a forrest.

BTW, it has been a year or so since this thread was started, how was the OP's experience?
 
took shrooms once when I was in California...

just watched tv for a bit, waiting for them to kick in, then walked to the beach through these hill grasslands with a few trees... this was all at night... there were heaps of rocks on the walk and I kept seeing Mario world characters in the rocks... also kept seeing the faces of the members of Kiss coming at me... along with some pretty ****ed up shit when i closed my eyes...

then we headed back to the house and watched yellow submarine as we came down... was a good way to finish...
