Dude, I haven't, but I'd really like to! Am I wrong though in understanding Australia are one of the few countries to ban it?

Looks like it.

As of 1 June 2002, Australia became the first country to ban Salvia and salvinorin. According to the Australian Drugs and Poisons Committee, salvia had not yet shown evidence of damage or threat to public health/safety but had potential to be abused. In a statement which has been criticized as self-negating the committee said, "there was no evidence of traditional therapeutic use other than in shamanistic healing rituals".

Yeah I read that it is banned here

Have you seen the youtube clips of it? My mate had it sent over from a friend in Canada and reckons it is the wildest thing he has ever done!!! 5 minutes of intense hallucinations and then back to normal.

You can get salvia off eBay! There's a few different varieties but sometimes the right one pops up. Can also get Hawaiian baby woodrose seeds (which I just purchased the other day) from there. Haven't had a chance to try them just yet, but this weekend has just become free so here's hoping. If you haven't heard about them, you should do a search

Wouldn't it be illegal to 'import' the stuff?

And as for 'baby woodrose seeds', there is no mention of them being illegal on the relevant wikipedia page. Will investigate further.

Salvia and DMT have different active compounds and work via different neurological pathways.

DMT is similiar in pharmacological activity to Mescaline, Psilocybin and LSD, whereas Salvia is fairly unique in its activity.

DMT can be very scary stuff.

Salvia is amazing. Though extremely hard to get. despite being really short, its is VERY hardcore.

Btw, with mushrooms. The season in Melbourne is usually starting around May 1st. The ones that I find most often are called psilocybe subaeruginosa, and are found usually in wood mulch beds.
