You obviously haven't read to many then. I don't know about Rocca, Licuria, Lockyer, Lonie as they are all very inconsistent and I wouldn't want ore than two of them playing at onces. I also honestly think Cloke and Rocca play too much like each other, and our forwardline is cramped. Rusling needs room to lead and Cloke needs to take big pack marks. Burns, although as much as I like him, you have to be serious, really, if he plays every game he would only be in the way of a younger midfielder/ backman. I want Burns to play 10-12 games and if we make the finals, great, play Burns fro them because of his experience but if we don't... well, I see Burns retiring at the end of 07 anyway. Do we really want Burns playing 20-22 games and holding back the youngsters? I'd also like to see Lockyer and Licuria play 20-22 games each, but I think we would struggle to play them both. Again, they are (currently) good ordinary players, and if that threatens the developement of a young bloke, they've got to make way for him. The fact that I don't have Lockyer back shows that I don't think he'd get a game there and I'd be looking at 14-16 games for both of them, but only 4 or 5 together unless we have a huge injury toll.

the young blokes have to actually earn a game, fair enough if they are knocking down the door at training and putting in BOG performances for willi play em

but if u just give it to em on a platter it wont do them any good in the long term

Look to the future mate. Rusling plays the Tarrant role, Cloke the Rocca role. I'm not saying keep Rocca out of the line up, but that if the Pies want to move forward, they need to give younger guys experience. If I was going with a GF squad, my squad would look different. A bit more like this;

B: R. Shaw - Prestigiacomo - Maxwell
HB: Lockyer - Clement - H. Shaw
C: Swan - Licuria - Johnson
HF: Thomas - Rocca - Cloke
F: Buckey - Rusling - Didak
R: Fraser - Pendlebury - Holland
Int: Davis - Burns - O Brien - O Bree

Totally different squads mate. But I think we are closer to rebuilding then premiership, and the other squad is a squad that is (obviously) a squad made for rebuilding.

B: Harry O'Brien - Simon Pretigiacomo - Nick Maxwell
HB: Heath Shaw - James Clement - John Anthony
C: Dane Swan - Scott Pendlebury - Ben Johnson
HF: Tarkyn Lockyer - Travis Cloke - Dale Thomas
F: Nathan Buckley - Sean Rusling - Josh Fraser
R: Guy Richards? - Brodie Holland - Alan Didak
Int: Rhyce Shaw - Ben Reid - Leon Davis - Chris Egan
Eme: Shane O'Bree - Anthony Rocca - Scott Burns

Sad to leave out Rocca, Lonie, O'Bree, Burns and Wakelin, but we must look to the future. IMO Lockyer is safe this year but may struggle in 2008 to get a game. Davis and Shaw (R.), may be overtaken by kids in Martin Clarke and Ben Reid. I think Lockyer will struggle in 2008 with Dawes available

Players 22 and under (9)
Players 22-27 (8)
Players 27 and over Best 22 (5) Plus Emergancies (8)

Rocca will play 16-20 games
Licuria, whom I left out by accident in that squad, should play 16-20 games
O Bree unless he has another stellar year like last, will play 12-14
Burns, by all means still a great player, will play 12-16

... to 14th

Sorry but you have no idea!! Just like 2003, when we made that Grand Final it was said that we were a great side with the young team to be flag favourites. But when we got pumped everyone was saying that we need to rebuild. We finished 5th last year after a poor end to the season & then when we got pumped in the final, we need to rebuild. I have had enough of this rebuild crap, every team makes changes to a list because its complusary! We have drafted very well over the last 3 years & believe me, thet are not thinking about anything less than a top 4 finish. I would be surprised if we didnt achieve that!!!

So dont sit there and say Lica, Burns, Obree, Rocca all should be dropped beacuse that is jusrt ridiculous & you sound like a real moron!!

GET A FF********IN IDEA PLEASE!!!!!

If you read the posts before it you would realize I was talking about Carlton. Think before you quote me.

I wasnt commenting on the 14th comment, just happened to press that thread to reply.

I was commenting on the dribble that you have been writing.. I am not big on insults but you really need to stop talking about footy because you sound like a real moron. So please dont make us pie supporters look bad!!

GET A DAM CLUE!!!! JESUS@!

OK, Obviously you don't think that the youngsters matter, so maybe I should show you this years premiers squad.

WCE 2006

B: Selwood - Glass - Wirrpunda
HB: B. Jones - Hunter - Waters
C: Braun - Cousins - Embley
HF: Chick - Hansen - Stenglien
F: Fletcher - Lynch - R. Jones
R: Cox- Judd - Kerr
Int: Armstrong - Banfield - Butler - Seaby
Eme: Staker - Graham - LeCras

22 and under (7) (10 incl emergancies)
22-26 (10)
26 and over (5)

* Armstrong has turned 23 on the 12th January

The three emergancies are likely to be in the Eagles senior squad next year, as all played good throughout the year, especially Staker and Graham.

Of all of the youngsters, the only one we could probably not have a matching player for is Judd. In fact, our under 22 group of players could quite easily fit in that squad instead of theirs. Quite a good thought. It shows Collingwood are heading the right way. I think Collingwood look good for a shot at the premiership in 2009. The only way the youngsters are going to improve, is game time. Yes, granted, they need to out muscle the senior players for the squad, but with three spots probable to open up in the next few years, might save a few senior players.

Might have to consider a spot on the team for a new member. :D :thumbsu:

C. John is a big man. Might be able to hold strong at centre half forward!
