What a game!! Tonight I went and saw a great football match, Port versus Norwood at the Parade, which ended with a goal right on the final siren by Bryan Beinke, capturing the match for the Maggies by 6 points!!

I couldn't believe it, the match was tied with about 30 seconds to go, then Harvey smothered an Alfy Steed snapshot, the ball went out to the wing, Lyle bombed it back long, the ball fell to Beinke who kicked as the siren sounded from about 35-40 metres out. The ball bounced, was sheperded brilliantly by Phillipou, and it rolled through for a goal!!! :) You bloody beauty!! Magnificent!! To beat the old foe at their home ground like that is sppeeecccialll!!!

Go the Magpies!!

There is nothing better than beating Norwood under controversial circumstances!!!! Who cares if it was after the siren or before the siren, the siren can go for 10 minutes but its when the umpire hears it and decides to blow the end of the quarter. HAHAHA!!!!!

SHIRLEY!!!! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! He played against the magpies a month ago whenever it was, and he got thrashed, in fact he was hte cause of the match sealing goal!! OOOOOO im so worried now ROBERT SHIRLEY WILL BE BACK!!!!! :rolleyes:

Its alright, we will have Shane Bond, Poulton, Beinke, Ricky O come finals time.....not to mention Ormond Allen, Stephen Carter, Warrior, Burgoyne, David Brown, Greeny and Micky Spanagel as well who have all been injured for extended parts of the year.

And yes i would love to put my money where my mouth is. In fact ill put money on that Eagles arent even in the grand final

OK it's excuse making time. We didn't have our best forward Stephen White thanks to a bullsh!t suspension (fu(king rough play, what a load of sh!t), our best midfielder (averaging 32 possessions) Tim Weatherald and our best player from our previous match Michael Curtis. North regained Chris Ladhams for the first time since '98 and also got back Wintle and Setchell. We played sh!te and I'll be the first to say that but I don't think North really were too comfortable untill about the 20 minute mark when they sealed the game.

OK I'm in for some betting action - but JARS458 - don't bother with port supporters - they'd NEVER pay up.

Eagles a monty to finish higher than port. A Centrals v eagles rematch in the GF is assured. If port can only just beat norwood in one of their encounters so far they are no chance.

I'm still owed 3 slabs and $50 on the Sturt v Port game at Adelaide Oval in '97. The one where we defeated them for the first time since '88.

Huge weekend that one. The Power went down to the Crows in Showdown 2. :p

I do not accept that bet as i do not want to be broke come september time if something drastic should happen.
I stated that Port would finish above the Eagles and i stand by that.

The two teams to beat this year are Port and the Eagles. I wrote 5 or 6 weeks back when Port beat West by apoint coming down from 6 goals in time on that that would be the turning point of the year. We were then 5th and struggling. We havent lost a game yet and we are now equal top with the eagles only down a tiny bit on percentage. Port have beaten everyone this year but Centrals (who we play the second time this weekend in a game we should win). We have beaten the Eagles with half a side at Woodville oval and there is no reason why we cant do that again either.
