Normally I'd agree completely with the OP (and still can understand the sentiment). However it's such a nice improvement over the run of recent negative threads about us on the Main "Bay 13" Board , (all started by opposition supporters) so I actually don't mind as much anymore.

I guess I'm motivated by my irritation at a similar thread about another team being closed down after about 200 posts and not re-started. That duckers thread was turning into pure mud-slinging towards the end.

That doesn't explain why he named the thread "West Coast are duckers" when the original was along the lines of "Clarko:Eagles are duckers".

Of course it doesn't. It was a shit thread full of horrible posts from opposition and Eagles supporters alike. My biggest gripe with that is that it wasn't close after about 100 posts, when it was clear that it was an abortion of a thread.

Yep, shit topic of discussion, but it was a hot topic of discussion in the broader footy media, so the main board couldn't very well ignore it....

I rarely use the main board as it's so adversarial these days, I think BF's real strength now is in the club boards - but I'm not a big fan of trolling so maybe that's just me.

Yeah I suppose this is true, and I guess that points to some broader problems with the footy world that aren't localized to BF. But regardless of that, I would have expected the topic to have been handled better, and I completely agree that Eagles fans played their part in the longevity of that nonsense.

Although I also understand why we did feel the need to post. It took a shitload of self control on my part not go in there with guns blazing, just to try and shut up some of the morons in there. But I think that would have done more harm them good. I'll just be staying within the four walls of the WC board I think.

didn`t mind the Gaff thread because apparently rival clubs do rate him in the top 5 best players from that draft ,what would make it bad is if someone done a Swift or Masten thread ,I think Masten has really improved but not enough for main board action .

I went in there a little late in the week and the place was a mess realized quickly that their would be no winners .

The Gaff thread had merit, but there were some stupid calls in there as well. For example, all australian.

Imo If both players stopped improving as of right now, Gaff would be more valuable than Darling. In general though Darling is slightly more valuable.
