Just heard this on the radio. No player has been named but they said he was "of note". Still alive (thank god).

Anyone heard more on this?

Hard to narrow it down to who the player is without much to go on but player in his 20s, could be Majak Daw.

Media outlets are reporting an AFL player fell off the Bolte Bridge near Lorrimer Street last night and landed in or near the Yarra River. The player is now in hospital recovering with reportedly non-life threatening injuries. The MFB deployed their fire boat to assist in the recovery of the player.

The club has not made a statement as of yet (8:45am)

Great news that he survived, hopefully a turning point for the young man
It is great that he survived. It's a relief to hear he did.
The best thing that will come from this is that he will get the help he needs so hopefully he never has to go through it again.

I've been in the exact same place and I wouldn't wish it on anybody.

AFL star Majak Daw is recovering in hospital after a serious incident on the Bolte Bridge last night.

Emergency services rescued North Melbourne player Daw, 27, who was found in the Yarra River about 11pm last night.

Daw is believed to have suffered a broken hip in the fall but did not suffer life-threatening injuries.
