This guy single handedly provides more inspiration than anyone else in the team.
Would love to have our guys looking up to this bloke - and trying to emulate him both on the field of battle and the training track.

Special mention also to Thursty - going to be a player
Patto - still dont know where he is best suited but by f**c he playes somewhere pretty well

Lids - 5 lazy. Just wait till he can break a tag (or doesnt need to because we have more than one other good freeken player)

johnson was very impressive, easily his best for the season, unfortunately the fact it took a thorough roasting to bring it out in him is a big negative.
newman would be a better captaining option then johnson but honestly, why would you discount foley?

haha right on. put it this way, if there's one guy at richmond currently who inspires on the field its foley and if there's one guy at richmond currently who inspires on the track it's foley.

I think when our guys look to one player for inspiration on the field and a benchmark on the training track it should be the captain. if all our guys put in as much as foley did to make himself the player he is today we'd be up with hawthorn right now. again just my opinion but i'll stand by it.

Not sure of his current contractual situation, but I'd be surprised if he was on more than a 1 year (very cheap) deal for 07.

Geez he's great. A bona fide star of the competition, the likes of which we haven't seen at Tigerland since Wayne Campbell was rated the comp's best midfielder in 1995 by Leigh Matthews.

I see your point on letting him develop fully before captainship is thrust upon him, i've often pondered it myself, but looking at other possible captaining options foremost newman, i find myself pondering again why newman and not foley? age should not be a factor in leadership. watch foley in the quartertime huddles and try to pick a bloke with a more serious look on his face, you've got an impossible task. he's a leader through and through, the sooner we make it official the longer his legacy. it's inevitable.
