Make it Happen - Alex Keath?

Certainly worth the risk. He won't take as long as the international rookies and is a good size. Be certainly worth a shot given we will likely lose Keefe. Anyone like Knightmare know more about him from jnrs?

The sports guy on 3AW this morning said he would be a certainty to play in his first year but that he seems dedicated to making cricket work.

Sounds like he wants to stay in cricket but at 23 its not happening for the kid, in fact it has to be said that its now going backwards.

crickets peak in their mid-late 20's so he's still got plenty of time. Also, the environment in cricket has totally changed due to 20/20. It is arguably as lucrative, if not more, than AFL these days.

Thats all true but he'd want to improve a hell of a lot if he's going to get anywhere imo

Perhaps, but after missing 6 years or so of AFL development, the same could be said about him making it in AFL

What a moron!
How does that make him a moron?

He's a good cricketer, but he's young and not exactly the ideal build for a batsman. Just because he loves cricket and wants to make a career of that rather than footy (which I'm told he doesn't quite enjoy the culture of), it doesn't make him a moron..

It was a joke but whatever

The recent word regarding this topic is that Keath will continue playing cricket, but clubs none the less are talking to him and making a play.

I believe he played 2010 for Murray as an underager and from there got picked as one of Gold Coast's prelisted players.

Keath is 196cm and is best known as a highly athletic CHF. Very quick on the lead, multiple leads. And had obviously shown promise during his under-age year.

Should we take a shot at Keath in the circumstance he chose footy? I don't see why not. There are 4 slots for international/alternative type rookies, and Keath as proven he has AFL talent, so for a free shot for a list position that otherwise wouldn't be used. I don't see why not when we need someone of talent who can play the position/role he plays.
