Started looking at this issue about replacing Lids and who or how we could replace him and that brought me back to his last good year which also happened to be Prestia'a last uniterupted season - 2014

If we were offered a deal of Prestia for Deledio as a trade, We would have all jumped at it and with Lids turning 30 at Richmond there would have been no upside but with Prestia we still have 8 full years

Im of the belief that Prestia's knee injury was rushed and not handled properly in 2015 due to Gold Coast injury issue's as well as their desperate need to replace Ablett.

#6 seems high but when we look at the percentages of players that are 1st rounders that are below what was expected and our track record its probably a good deal - Time will tell

Scrimshaw is probably the player most likely would have been at Richmond if #6 wasnt traded so we shall see

But im comfortable that Dion will be a top 5/6 player at Richmond for years to come & will off set the loss of Lids

This year is going to be a break for at least a third of our list. We will have a new coach and it will be the end of the line for most of Griffiths, Grigg, hunt, hampson, Lambert, b Ellis (at the RFC anyway), c Ellis, Morris, Townsend, Moore, Elton, broad, butler, soldo, Lennon, batchelor, and probably should be more but cutting half the list at once is dumb.

God we have a crap list...

Everyone got two years - Griff, Conca etc.
I think they even gave me a two year deal.
I can kinda understand both though.

Grif either cements a spot or becomes depth for a year while we develop a kpf that we draft end of this year.

Conca. Minimal coin. New fitness boss. No interest. Vs two year contract for what wouldve been a very late draft pick. Think we stuck with him given his age suits our list. Perhaps he'll retire if his hammy goes again anyway.

Did batch get two? Or just one like lambert?

Not sure , did Griggs get one as well ?

Grigg got 1 year - end of 2017
Defender Bachar Houli and midfielder Shaun Grigg have agreed to contract extensions, with Houli committing until the end of the 2018 season. Grigg was seeking a two-year deal but settled for a one-year extension.

RFC site under his bio says batch got 1 to the end of 2017
Contracted until the end of this season.

No hope mate as there are about 38 blokes on their list who at better than him. Unless they need an orange squeezer boy.

Right time right place that Spangher bloke timed his run perfectly. Grigg will do the same and open a spud bar up in silver water ay

Yea grigg got one year. Think he will be 30 when his contract is up.
shame, he deserves 2 years more than some of the players that got 2. he isnt the best out there but he is a very solid foot soldier. good size, can take a mark and kick a goal, hard worker (now more than earlier on). he would be worth having on a forward flank for a few years since he knows where the goals are, tackles, and can certainly get the ball.

Your not really suggesting he Deledio was no good in 15 and 16.Even suffering injuries and not quite his best he had better yrs than the majority on our list when playing. I tend to ask how good would he have been if not for the injuries. The simple answer to that would be probably close to our best as usual.
