It was brought up by some Hawks supporter in the bay 13 forum, and i kind of agree with him, it's woeful!
it's almost as bad as the fake clapping at BBL games. It's embarrassing, i can't be the only one who hates it, can i?

I dunno. It feels kinda lame at games (and is often weirdly timed) but it sounds awesome on TV

It's grown on me, probably as I don't give a f*** that some opposition fans are pissed off about it when we're winning or on a roll. It's a million times better than the bloody air raid siren, or dog bark, or friggin trumpet crap up the GC way.

It sucks IMO. Totally cringeworthy.

I went to the baseball once out at Waverly thanks to some free tickets.

I've never seen such a mindless bunch as that crowd. They did EVERYTHING the scoreboard or the announcer said.

Arm-chop (Atlanta Braves were playing well then), mexican waves...... even to the point of everyone standing up and singing "Take Me Out To The Ballgame" during the seventh inning stretch.

This is what "Make Some Noise" reminds me of.

Why oh WHY DO WE NEED TO BE TOLD TO MAKE NOISE???!!!???!!!?

Same here.

I think it actually makes a big difference especially when we get a good run.

Try going to the Adelaide Oval when the Crows are playing. Literally a bunch of crows squawking through the speakers wanting the 19th man to do it with them. It's way more cringeworthy than this.

I make noise no matter what, but I like how it does build the atmosphere...

I don't partake in it but my young fella does and he seems to enjoy it. While it may seem a bit lame at the ground it sure sounds great on TV.

Some people have to realise that going to an AFL game is not the same as it was 20, even 10 years ago.
As there are more sports and entertainment for the masses and AFL clubs have to look at new ways to entertain the crowd regardless of how the team is playing.

This was my post in the bay35 lev1 thread which has this discussion included.

" Clubs may laugh at the make some noise cew but i dont give a shit if thats whats needed to get more fans involved then so be it."

I don't care what they put on the screen.

But give me the angry North crowd ready to jump out of their seats and make noise like Friday night every week.

I hope that Friday night was a turning point not just for the team but for the supporters.

Get behind them, get up and into it, yell yourselves hoarse, every game.

I don't like any of them, and most clubs seem to have given it a try. Why Essendon and Richmond needed it is beyond me. But if kids like it, it doesn't really do any harm.

I love the games where we are making so much noise it's irrelevant. Let's all do what we can to make that the norm, huh?

Oh. And if we get kiss-cam, I'll have something worth complaining about.

Oh yeah they do this at the Tassie games as well, i didn't know they did it at Etihad as well
At first i thought it was abit lame, now it's grown on me.

Am a bit disappointed to hear what I thought was a more naturally passionate and vocal North crowd nowadays, which used to be/sound pretty lame, is manufactured.

When is it spontaneous and when is it contrived? Either way it does sound awesome on TV.
