Re: David Mundy will not be heading to the Gold Coast

Yeah actually he's third in the team in disposal averages, behind Barlow and Broughton. If Palmer wasn't coming back from a knee reco it would have been.

1) Barlow
2) Palmer
3) Broughton
4) Mundy
Well, going by that.. Matthew Priddis is a better player than Simon Black? Its all about disposals to you isn't it. I bet Joel Bowden was your favourite player.

Indeed, let's trade Hill, while we're at it. He'll never average 35 disposals a game.

Re: David Mundy will not be heading to the Gold Coast

Hrmm... so we are going to get rid of one of the best clearance players in the league because we lack a ball winner... umm.... just stop typing already.

"One of the best clearance players" . How do you rate that? Being #31 in clearance averages is one of the best? Maybe if he was top 10 you could state he was one of the best, but there are 30 players in 2010 better than him at clearances.

Here are some other players for us in top 100 clearances
Sandilands #6
Palmer #46
Pavlich #51
Barlow #57
Mora #100

Is Palmer also "one of the best in the league in clearances"? Or is the cutoff point wherever mundy ends up?

Mundy's best football in 2010 was when Barlow was around doing all the dirty work, his form dropped off significantly after that point. Which only proves what I am saying, without the ball winners (the guys that win the ball and get high disposals) Mundy doesn't deliver on his potential.

In the past that could have been the case but if you can not see that Mundy has finally after all this time started to deliver then you clearly don't watch Freo games.

He had his best year this year. However his best still only comes when we are going well. He also cannot play 4 quarters in the midfield, because he isn't a true midfielder.

A player like Broughton stepped up more this year than Mundy. And he's just in his 2nd year.

Re: David Mundy will not be heading to the Gold Coast

Broughton stepped up more because he got more of the ball? His skills aren't anything like Mundy's and he gets the ball across HB. I bet you think Brian Lake is a better midfielder cause he averages high.

I would not say we went well on Friday night.
Mundy ws arguably our best player in this final.
I don't believe Broughton improved to the same level that Mundy did other than he played in the mid field on occasions and acquitted himself really well. Am a huge fan of Broughton and look forward to seeing him used at times in the mid field next year.

.

This argument is non-sensical and makes you sound absolutely stupid, Mundy was best afield for us against the Cats, and were we going well then? Mundy's foot skills are elite, he will cop the number one tag, allowing Hill and Barlow to run free.

You, like Hutchy, are a pig-headed idiot, just admit that Mundy is an integral part of the team, without Mundy the Dockers will be struggling to make the 8 next year.

Re: David Mundy will not be heading to the Gold Coast

Clearly Memories would get more pleasure out of being proven right (which he isn't) than Mundy doing well and contributing to Freo's improvement.

I don't even bother reading memories posts now unless I forget to look at who the poster is. So many good threads are derailed by people responding to his tripe

Re: David Mundy will not be heading to the Gold Coast

I'm quietly confident that mundy will stay with us because from a business point of view positioning himself after taz s departure means he can maximize his position to the reported five hundred squid or whatever it is. I think he wants success on field as well as earn what he thinks he deserves which can now be done. Pav never had that issue so didn't need to play these games.

Re: Is Mundy signing bigger then Pav?

I really hope that the posters who have heard that he isn't heading to GC are right. After the season the team have had and with cap space freed up by Taz's departure there's plenty of reasons to stay so heading home looks less likely but if he committed to GC before the season we're screwed.

Re: Is Mundy signing bigger then Pav?

Mundy is waiting for the AA selection announcement (+$150k/year) and then the Brownlow call (+$25k/vote).

A durable body, can run out a game, top flight skills and still improving. He's worth every cent. :)
