Beauty & Style Makeup - Yay or nay?

I find it hard to believe that so many guys supposedly like the 'natural look', when most girls that guys seem to like are never seen without make-up, nails done, hair extensions etc. Obviously it's true for some, but it seems like one of those lies that sounds good, so everybody uses it (much like girls who say the most important thing in a guy is his 'sense of humour').
I don't really think it's true for anyone. As someone said earlier, guys who say they like girls without makeup usually mean they like girls with minimal makeup.

The whole point of makeup is to accentuate a girl's best features and disguise her worst ones (subtly or otherwise). By definition, if a girl doesn't look better with makeup then she's not wearing it right.

What sort of guys are the ones you are refering to? I'd wager a bet the ones that love the 'fake' look are the typical club junkies that go to the gym, wear v-neck shirts and have their eyebrows waxed.

They would definitely fit into that category, but from what I've seen as a general rule, the girls with lots of make up (not necessarily the 'caked on' look), dyed hair, fake tan and fake nails tend to attract a lot more attention from all types of guys than girls who don't. It might not just be the look that they're putting out there, it might be their confidence etc. that is attractive to guys, I don't know.

Agree with this. I guess my point of view was taking into account more than just make-up (which admittedly wasn't the idea of the thread), so when you take into account that most girls dye their hair at some stage (I haven't because I like my colour and CBF'd with keeping up with it), shave, get real or fake tans etc. that calling it a 'natural' look is pretty inaccurate.

Yeah, I've got a feeling that's more to do with the type of males dales girl is familiar with rather than something most guys are after.

That's pretty good to hear. I honestly don't know a lot of the 'Guido' type, my school was incredibly white/anglo (small country school) and I don't really know a lot of guys from my university, but from what I know of them, they mostly go for the high maintenance type of girls who are always out getting their hair/nails/spray tan done. It is a small cross-section of people that I'm using to base my opinion (but it's all that I've got to use, so I hope that seems fair enough), either way it's nice to hear that it probably isn't true in most cases.

The majority of women are very unattractive without makeup. Men are very easily fooled. Women also tend to wear perfume for this reason.

Probably pretty consistent view to most others - a little bit of make up is OK as long as it's not over the top. Although, there is not much that compares to waking up in the morning next to a gorgeous girl who is all natural.

surprised at the responses ITT tbh
my wife has awesome skin and no need to cover anything and a nice healthy glow.
I honestly think that this is all anyone needs and a lot of makeup inhibits this

Nay from me. I prefer they natural look - blemishes and all.

I suppose it's fine if you're wretchedly ugly or into fancy dress, but for regular everyday use, it just seems needlessly excessive to me.

I want to see your real face.

Nothing better than an girl with a naturally pretty face, putting on a nice amount of makeup on a night out, especially when they normally wear little to no makeup. Nothing hotter than that.
I can think of 100 things hotter than that easily.

Alright. Probably won't know half the s**t I've said. But the other 50 odd % are footy players so eh.
