Just hoping Bevo has done his homework this week and for those few that have gone to training how has Bevo and team trained. We need don't want another slip up against a 'weaker' opponent. GWS next week I reckon we can win as well but will be tougher based on there form. Port Power up there next will difficult but you never know as the Lions beat them last week.

In all seriousness we have lost 2 in a row. We have nothing at all to be complacent about, playing a team we have struggled to put away for a number of years
This, pretty much.

Our attitude on the footy field each week (even vs. Saints - the effort was there) suggests we are anything but complacent.

We're not going to have a slip up.

The week before last we were physically and emotionally stuffed after half time, and literally just could not do anything even though we tried. A good team would have smashed us by 10 goals.

Last week, we got within a kick of the best team in the competition, and had a couple of things gone differently, we would have beat them.

We'll be fine. We're not going to take these guys lightly, and we will put in the effort and we have the talent to make a statement, and I think we will.

We're 4 and 3 not 8 and 0.
Can't see us getting complacent to be honest, and coming from the bottom doesn't give us ground to be so.
Bring our game and we'll win, don't and we'll get pantsed .

I don't think we'll slip up ... but what I'd like to see (that would help) is Bont improving his disposal efficiency. Having just watched the replay, in the 2nd and 3rd in particular he was kicking long straight down Johnstone's throat. He is smarter than this and has an excellent leg ... he just needs to learn how to kick to our advantage more often.

I have yet to see us play an insipid style of footy that we saw under BMac. With injuries we took it as best as we could with Hawthorn missing 5 of our best 22 and down 2 rotations

Against the Saints we went down to injury and fitness again, and last week we were within a sniff of upsetting Freo. There is no evidence that I've seen that suggest there is any complacency

"We believe we can match it with the best team
We believe we can beat our direct opponent
We believe every game is winnable
We believe in each other
We believe we are talented
We believe we are different
We believe in our leader
We believe in our coach
We believe its time"

This is the game plan

We will beat Melbourne

I don't think we were complacent against st kilda. We played amazing footy until we completely ran out of gas.
Clay's injury had a fair bit to do with it.
How do you keep the energy up after such a deflating incident like that? The rooms were a morgue at halftime by all accounts.

I spoke to Bont about that on Monday night.. Clay's injury really took a toll on the team

Yep, he definitely needs to work on lowering his eyes and going into the 50 shorter. It's almost as if he above all other players in our team has become blinded by having Boydy down there.

Coming off the week before against Sydney we were always going to be at risk of both a mental and physical let down, especially with so many young players in the team. Bevo made sure there was no mental let down in the 1st half considering that we were almost 10 goals up. But when Clay went down the mental effect combined with the physical toll from the Swans game combined to make us vulnerable to the fast finishing Saints.

This week we need to be on guard for a Melbourne team that has come off 3 straight games against the cream of the AFL, and would have idenfied us as their next likely win. That is probably why Jesse Hogan and Jack Watts were rested against Hawthorn. They are going to be primed in front of their fans to go out "all guns blazing" - we need to match that intensity early, because if we are even 1% off it could be a "Dog Day Afternoon".

Watts wasn't rested, he played VFL and he was absolutely woeful prior to that. I completely agree that they rested Hogan for this game though.

I'm kind of hoping we don't see a thread title like this again or at least until we've won a premiership (something that hasn't happened in most of our lifetimes.)

As a club we have nothing to be complacent about (I'm hoping people understand the difference between complacent and proud).

Agreed, poor team selections hurt more though than anything else
