People having a rack at Leon... he was the only coach who showed any balls. Was totally honest in his feedback.

Massive sprays singling out individuals in front of the group do not work anymore. Anyone working with 15 to 28 year olds these days could tell you that.

Like most I found Cameron and Coniglio uninspiring, hard to judge Coniglio as being completely bad because he doesn't seem like a naturally charismatic type and seemed a bit of a "deer in the headlights" when having to address the group. There was one bit where they put a "respected v liked" on the white board i think it said, you can definitely get the feeling Cogs doesn't know which one to go for and he's stuck between trying to tell the guys what they needed to do but also didn't want anyone to hate him while doing it. I remember when Walsh made Tex Captain in 2015, one of the things he mentioned went against Sloane was he was too nice and he wasn't sure if Sloane would pull a guy up for poor standards if he saw it, although that seems to have probably changed a bit now that Sloane is Captain (albeit 6 years later, so certainly a chance for him to grow in that space).

Really impressed by Dew and Hardwick, Dew looks like the perfect guy for the Suns and the Tigers are such a well oiled machine Hardwick could probably coach them in his sleep at this point.

I hope it gets better for Leon Cameron and Coniglio. So far they been the worst performed in terms of how they come across. I struggle to even understand what Cameron saying most of time and Conigs way of talking does not feel like a captain type, even though he trying. I do not feel like his players buy into his statue theme but maybe Heath Shaw saved the day for him by projecting some genuine meaning to it for him in that moment. Dew so far is easier to follow as a coach than Cameron as a viewer.

It is good we get to see role of coaches, captains, CEO, President, players, family, club staff etc. Gives a good human story element to it so far of the craziness of the Co-Vid stuff unfolding at start of 2020 season. The people making doco getting a two for one value in making it by luck of timing of making it. They got a sports doco and a Co-Vid breaking doco in two.

GWS trying to manufacture the three “H’s” Richmond used to bring out vulnerability ...

Do you think there are any coaches in the AFL that don’t give sprays towards players?
Do you really think everyone just hates Leon Cameron and are bashing him because they're bored?
Do you really think the lone guy defending him who happens to be a GWS supporter couldn't possibly be just a little biased hmmmm?

Of course coaches yell and single out players but every player reacts differently Cog clearly isn't the type to go "**** you i know im good i'll ****ing show you" he's the type to wallow in his sadness thinking he's not good enough, As a coach you should know who is what, but he clearly has no relationship with any of his players.

Stuart dew still and always will be a character from his port days to that 2008 season to this documentary he's a legend amongst men. Incredibly charismatic and doesn't give a ****.

Of course they do... at times. They’re also men.
Going by this doco it’s all Cameron has though. Even when he’s trying to be more understanding you can tell it’s insincere and he doesn’t believe a word of it. It’s like he’s been forced to go on a course to learn how to be a better leader and is trotting out lines.

It's not even the fact he is having a crack at the players - it's the way he's doing it and entrenching a culture of negativity after 1 loss to the Kangas basically saying they're crap after playing in a GF 2 games ago. That should've been more of a "that was shithouse but let's just move on and focus on next week".

Makes me incredibly frustrated knowing he was Roosy's first choice as coach but we had to settle for Goodwin...

(just 3 eps in...coz I don't have the mentality of a hotdog eating contestant)

So far, I'm most impressed by Jake Kelly and not some so called superstar...

I love Simmo and Dew, but one of the surprise things so far, especially without crowds in these games, is how their words to their players are not that much different to remembering playing footy myself in my youth and just the local coach. Very down to earth dudes despite the elite level of the game they coaching teams at. One thing I did pick up from Simmo is he did tend to have too much of a negative about the hub situation that probably played into players minds. Actually think he made a few mistakes in that early part of season both with that and some of his address pre-match against Suns and later during the match. Dew actually had a calmer head and coached better that game and going into it going by what we seen in that episode.

Eddie Betts is so wonderful to watch. I remember when we drafted him back in early 2000's and he said he had never learnt to read or write. Has not stopped him being a wonderful human being and role model for many people in just the way he carries himself and teaches to other people around him.

Watched the 1st 3 eps last night.

God i feel for Cogs.
It's all well and good to doubt yourself, but you NEVER let anyone know it.
Ask Trent Cotchin if he agrees with that theory. He went through the exact same thing Coniglio is going through and credits everything turning around to sharing his vulnerabilities rather than trying to bury them inside.

Not everyone is as awesome as Cotch is though, amirite lads ???? :D

And don't get me wrong, i wish Cogs nothing but the best.

That's the slightly relaxed Kelly too who admitted he had to take a step back for his own mental well-being after the 2019 season. He lives footy 24/7.
