If they do it again I’d love to hear Chris Scott/freo/Bont/pendles/clarko and fagan as for port Kenny seems boring

I reckon Geelong and Brisbane for the all-in premiership push, plus north and Essendon rebuilding with new coaches. Then a couple of others to make 6.

Was trying to think of personalities to make it interesting fagan and Scott are obvious but who would they pick from north and dons

Rutten as an inexperienced coach might be interesting, Sheedy as a board member might be too much Sheedy. Dodoro would love the opportunity I’m sure.

Couldn’t really care about following Heppell as Captain all that much, but they seem to either follow a coach / captain / star player in season one.

North maybe a guy like Simpkin, or Stephenson at a new club

I did hear one night in the hub when we were getting smashed from the media the coaches decided to order the group pizzas and a few slabs for a bonding session to get back on track

Would be hard not wanting a drink locked in a resort with the same people for months

Would of been when we had the bye I assume

So mostly just Vic sides?

If it follows the same formula as Season 1 with all states being represented then Season 2 will be Fremantle, Port, Brisbane, Swans, Richmond (you'll need the defending champs in there) Since Vic has 2 sides this season I'd be curious to see how Collingwood goes after all that's happened lately.

Happend to work out perfect with Richmond winning the flag for the series... could have been a much bigger flop if no one ran deep in the finals.

Hardwick came off like a champion compared to the other coaches as per Peggy and Gale.

That was the night CCJ and Stack needed midnight kebabs.

It's more that North / Essendon / Collingwood / Geelong would all be interesting ones this year - to me - for varying reasons. Sydney might be OK, seeing how Longmire manages a changing list, maybe following Buddy trying to get back playing. Brisbane and Fagan would be good. Port & Freo I couldn't really be fussed about.

When VIC sides make up more than 50% of the comp, to follow 6 sides a season over 3 years means you won't have 4 interstate sides every year.

Honestly I wouldn't want to follow Richmond again. We know what Hardwick is like now, we know what Peggy and Brendan Gale are like now. Go for different sides.

I do wonder in these docos whether when you know the camera is on you that you almost feel like you need to put on a performance and say something impactful etc - or whether over time the people involved just forget the cameras are there and act naturally, perhaps a bit of both.

I reckon the players being followed and Dew forgot about them. Peggy seemed very aware of it, and made sure to have the worlds most boring conversations when being filmed.

Cogs and Leon Camerons first conversation in the first episode made me feel that they were very aware of the cameras and were trying to put on a show, but as it goes on I reckon a lot of then would forgot and act more naturally.

Dew is a beauty, really hope it works out for the Suns and him. I liked Hardwick too. He comes across as a strong leader and seems to have nailed the balance between being friendly with the playing group and knowing when to go hard at them. Nicks good too, hopefully the Crows give him time because I think he has the tools to be a good coach. Thought NicNat came across as a bit of a try hard to be honest, can't imagine wanting to spend long periods of time with the guy unless he was just putting it on for the camera.

Leon Cameron comes across as a terrible man manager. Funny to think in that video of Rodney Eade giving Minson a spray, Cameron seemed the more level headed of the two. Seems like he would be the one to give the spray now. I wonder if it's a recent development though because that finals run of 2019 was one of the toughest you'll see and couldn't have happened if the playing group didn't respect the coach. Appears Cameron has really struggled to find answers on how to handle the group after the 2019 GF. Coniglo isn't much of a leader either, Heath Shaw really should have captained GWS while he was on their list.

Think we saw when Cameron told McCarthy to get the camera out that they remember that they are there

Obviously I'm biased, but if you get the access in Season 2021, surely you would need to involve a side pushing for a threepeat.
Originally it was meant to focus on Peggy, which then changed due to the way the season panned out, but you could easily make it a more player based focus next time to mix it up, like they did for Cogs & NicNat.

focus it on hardwicks new squeeze

just on that, was she filmed at all in any footage? in background or anything?

I think it comes back to where you are as a club though as well - Dew and Nicks are teachers at the moment, getting them to understand life as an AFL player and learn their method of play etc, especially with such young lists.

Cameron is coming off a grand final smashing and needs to get the players back on the path they were on mentally - and at that age group its more harsh love than the softly softly approach. But it was clearly a struggle for the whole club to rebound from the disastrous grand final and you can see they have fallen apart a fair bit.

Hardwick on the other hand has 2 flags to his name and coming on a grad final win - things a little easier for him. But he also goes down the hard/tough approach when needed.

And then again, we see an hour an episode when that episode probably covered 300 hours of film to cut up and show - its easy to leave buts out that show people in different lights.

I just watched epsiode 4 and hardwick getting emotional about playing for the people back home etc (what a laod of rubbish, the whole premise of the season is to stop the code going bankrupt)

But it didnt stop me thinking he was getting upset because it may mean his wife and kids might have to fly up and he cant be getting the roots off the new squeeze

I don’t think the issue is Cameron being tough. The issue is he is trying to be tough, but the emotion isn’t there. The lights are on but no one is home. He seems incapable of articulating himself.

Don't really care tbh, it'll mostly be more of the same. We already know the internal workings of the club. I'd rather see all clubs get a chance to be shown, instead of coming back to the same group over and over.

Seeing Sloane & Dew really changed my opinion of them, how they dealt with being in a struggling side was much more interesting than West Coast for example.

Of the potential top-4, Geelong is the one I'd most like to see. They've been a well run club for a long time, have clearly gone all-in for a flag, and Scott is a bit of a mystery as to how he coaches and interacts behind the scenes. Seeing how Hardwick & Dew conducted themselves compared to Cameron was the most interesting part for me, not the success or failure of the team during the season.
