What's Mal on? $300,000?

With the priority pick gone, you would be shattered if you missed the 8 and a potential superstar wouldn't you?

P.s I'll stick with Thursfield. 12 years left in the game. What does Mal have 1, 2 more. Waste I reckon! :D

What has Thursfield ever done or looked like doing?
 
Never a waste-superstar he is. And he teaches the young kids things that will help them.
 
mal is getting $110,000 less than he was on at brisbane...i doubt they were paying him $410,000 last season - i'd say we are playing him $220,000 - $280,000

Big Mal has released Fletcher to play some of his best footy and given Paddy Ryder the confidence to be able to play some awsome football.

I would say for those reasons he was a good signing.

We don't play for priority picks, we try to win every game possible.
Mal was a free player and I gaurentee that Terry Wallarse would have grabbed him had he been availbable to you guys in the PSD, as hes a miles better than that hack Kent Kingsley that you guys got.

Our salary cap is in OK shape AFAIK. Plus we'll have Hird and Campo off the books next season to meet any pay rises to guys like Ryder.

Mal has been pretty good. He gives us good structure and confidence back there, he just has 1 weakness (getting done on the lead) that teams have been exploiting a bit.
 
I think it was a good decision by Sheeds, you can't tell me that you wouldn't have done the same if you had been in the same position?

We got Mal, you got Kingsley... and as for Thursfield, he has shown nothing. At least Mal has passed on his experience to our younger guys as well as holding down a key position in our backline and taking the second best forward week in- week out.
 
FWIW i think Thursfield has a fair chance to make it....

I don't understand the comparison

MM was taken in the PS draft
Thursfied was a Rookie elevation in 2005

How can you compare the 2?

mal michael was as bad a pick as mich martin he has got bags of goals kicked agaist him all year sheedy got him to protect fletcher cos he is past his best and cant play on the premier forwards anymore
