Nick Malceski passed his final fitness test today and WILL PLAY on Sunday against those big-mouthed Bombers.
I still can't quite believe the Victorian and general sporting media have not gone bigger on what is one of the most remarkable sports stories of the year.
IF he comes back in style and there's no problem, he and the Swans have taken a major step in revolutionising the way knee ligament injuries are treated in the AFL; if he breaks down again and the comeback is aborted, the Swans have left themselves open to just another week or so of criticism and derision from the rest of the AFL media (and gee, wouldn't some of them love that!)
But for now, let's celebrate the return of one of our gun players, and let's hope he has a ripper and we smash the Essendon Egos.

Its great news that he is fit but,its a huge risk. I would much rather he comeback through the ressies. He will not be match fit. Hopefully he will have
a decent game, and inspire our forwards to kick straight!!!

No, I reckon he'll be right. He'd been exercising pretty well 3 weeks or so after the surgery, and there obviously won't be as much muslce wastage.

Only matter is to ease him into the game and see how he stands up to its pace. I reckon he'll be fine. At least I hope so.

Him cutting his hair? Hasn't made a difference :D

EDIT: bsg, nat, margaret, sophie and I will all definitely be cheering our asses off for him. It'd be sacreligious not to.

I need to dunk my head into cold water. This is absolutely insane. I think all the Swannies supporters will be sweating and watching's Eski's knee very closely.

Went okay today, was popping up everywhere forward middle and back. The only thing that worried me was that his kicking didn't seem to be as penetrating as usual.
Yup. When he kicked it from the 50m line, it didn't even make the journey to the goal posts.

well if i had a massive knee reco idd be alittle worried about how hard to kick a ball...everything in good time

i was so impressed

did not expect to see him play the way he did he was a gun running so fast

the way he sprinted over to the bench was amazing...looked like he didnt have anything wrong the 1st place

I reckon he's being reserved in that, refraining from putting extra strain on it in his first game back. Or maybe the synthetic doesn't allow for the degree of give a natural ligament would ?

I dare say his timing and skills are a bit rusty, they will improve as will he gains more touch.

I think the length of the kick has more to do with his timing, than his injury.

Even so, kicking at training and under match conditions is also different.

He will be all good in a couple of weeks.
Goal kicking too.

I just figured out a way for RyanO to fix his kicking. Be spontaneous, because i think he loses the mojo if he sets himself up.
