Again simple question what liberal value and policies did he abandon? Hat left wing ones did he adopt?

the intervention in the power market to lower prices by Government power is a left wing thing, is that teh one? the Liberal government should do nothing to lower power prices?

There hasn't been a mention of policies. Don't go changing the goal posts.

He has not provided strong leadership. He has buckled and wavered to suit what makes him look the best. Not what is best.

Marriage equality? He is big on climate change too.

Marriage equality was a survey - Turnbull did not implement it
Turnbull has not implemented one substantial climate change policy. Abbot was the last liberal to implement a significant climate change policy by signing the Paris Agreement so I guess Abbott is a lefty then :drunk:

Setting a default electricity price is the best policy the Turnbull government ever proposed. Shame it was a thought bubble which is now being lost among the foaming whirlpool.

And also lost is the implicit logic from that which is the most important of all if anyone stops to think.

It's a tacit admission that privatisation of natural monopolies doesnt work and loses you both policy flexibility and any vague control of rentseeking by the new owners, both of which lead to escalating cost and inefficiency rather than the reverse.

The neoliberal economic model has failed and this is exhibit A.

So you made some claims and unable to sustain them.

It's not moving the goalposts but holding you to your own words.

Petition delivered to PM's office – party room meeting to go ahead

The much-hyped petition, signed by a majority of Liberal MPs and calling for a party room meeting to resolve the crisis, is right now being delivered to Malcolm Turnbull's office by challenger Peter Dutton.

The PM demanded this document, bearing 43 signatures, before calling a meeting for 12pm today.

After some farcical scenes and a lot of confusion over the last little while, this demand has now been met. The meeting will be on and the leadership contest will be resolved in the coming hours.

Soon you wont be allowed to say that out loud...

It's the hurdle to competition in services that is the problem. If I had hundreds of billions of dollars and wanted to build a free nuclear power plant for every state, I think they'd let me. It would end this silly wholesale cost argument where they sell to themselves and pass on the cost to the customer but point the finger back at their wholesaler as the increase, which was them.
