Hopefully if she is guilty her victims will receive appropriate justice.

It's shocking it took over 11 years to get her back here, she's not going to get much sympathy from anybody imo and there will be few allowances to accommodate her fundy religious beliefs.

Ms Leifer appeared at the Melbourne Magistrates' Court via video link from North Melbourne police station and did not apply for bail.
Her legal team said the 54-year-old requires medication for her mental health, and prison authorities will need accommodate her strict religious reliefs while she is in custody.

Oh well, lawyers must do their job I guess. Seriously though how do some of them sleep at night. No conscience whatsoever.

“Mental health“ = full of sh*t.

Yes, when she was apparently in a full blown bed ridden mental breakdown, incapable of even taking care of herself and compeltely incoherent, hidden cams caught her trotting about all over Israel on public transport deftly flitting in and out of the shops.

Spot on. Old hag, conversing with shop owners, clearly coherent, clearly capable. Makes me so bloody angry. I’m loving the limp she’s putting on as well.

Did anyone realise she was in Return of the Jedi?

Poor understanding of our legal system. Conscience has nothing to do with it if you choose to be a criminal lawyer. Maybe conveyancing would be a more appropriate field in the legal profession.

Four Corners sending over reporters, hidden cameras as this piece of filth went about her daily buisness in Israel , such as shopping and then she claimed she was mentally disabled. Those three women are absolute champions and stood up to a state protected, school protected, sexually depraved campaigner.

If she had done nothing wrong, how come she was whisked out of the country at short notice after the allegations were first made?

Can someone hurry up and consider charging some of those that assisted get her out of the country, or have they also left the country?

With the Jewish Passover commencing in 2 nights, Malka Leifer can be assigned as the 12th plague* (albeit 3,500 years later than the original 10 plagues) that reigned down on some in the Melbourne Jewish Community (directly and indirectly in the aftermath over the years).

* Some have assigned the current Israeli Prime Minister (Bibi) as the 11th plague on the inhabitants of Israel, due to his part in the current undemocratic and reckless attempts to change the Israeli Justice System that recently culminated in Israel being on the verge of civil war (and not an Arab v Israeli one either).

Netanyahu made a risky political gambit and may have backed himself into a corner

'With the trial now over, the ABC can report that Leifer flew to Israel in 2008, shortly after allegations against her were first raised.
The former principal was brought back to Australia in 2021 following a lengthy extradition process.'

That Leifer was left the country in 2008 was reported back in 2015.
I recall reading about it in the MSM back then.

'School committee associates flew Adass Israel School principal out of Melbourne, trial told

Updated May 8, 2015 — 10.33pm'

'A school committee conspired to fly its principal out of the country after allegations of child sex abuse were raised against her, a court has heard.

Malka Leifer fled to Israel on an early morning flight in March 2008, just days after allegations were made that she had abused students at Adass Israel School in Elsternwick.

Mair Ernst told the Supreme Court on Friday of an emergency meeting where the Congregation Adass Israel committee decided to sack Mrs Leifer and arrange for her and her family to leave Australia.

The Congregation is partly responsible for running the ultra-Orthodox Jewish school.

Malka Leifer is under house arrest in Israel.

Mr Ernst said he then asked his wife Hadassa to arrange plane tickets through the eastern suburbs travel agents she worked for, owned and run by Tammy Koniarski.

Mrs Koniarski told the court how Mrs Ernst called her about 10pm on March 5, telling her she needed urgent tickets out of the country.

She said she met Mrs Ernst at their office later that night to process the sale using a supplied credit card number and to hand over the tickets.

The court heard that Mrs Leifer flew out of Australia to Israel at 1.20am on March 6.'

Now can we focus on how segments of the Israeli government actively harboured her and allowed her access to children over there?

DeIulio2Pearce Were you not aware of the below?

'Israeli police investigated and indicted former Minister of Health Yaakov Litzman, following an investigation into official interference with Leifer's case. Litzman eventually pled guilty to breach of trust in the case in early 2022.'

Israeli police investigated and indicted former Minister of Health Yaakov Litzman, following an investigation into official interference with Leifer's case. Litzman eventually pled guilty to breach of trust in the case in early 2022.'

Here's what happened (and didn't happen) to Litzman.

Appearing to demonstrate how corrupted some aspects of the Israeli Justice System have become, when compared to countries like Australia (hopefully?)

'In January 2022, Litzman signed a plea deal admitting that he had criminally assisted alleged paedophile Malka Leifer's attempt to evade extradition to Australia. Several other charges against Litzman relating to his activities as health minister were dropped as part of the plea agreement. The plea deal required Litzman to pay a nominal fine and to resign from the Knesset, which he did on 1 June 2022.'

'Under the terms of the deal, Litzman will avoid jail time and instead be sentenced to probation, as well as a fine of NIS 3,000 (approximately $940).'

'9 June 2022, 8:37 pm'

'The Jerusalem Magistrate’s Court accepted a plea deal with former minister Yaakov Litzman, allowing him to avoid jail for admitting to abusing his powers to thwart the extradition of a suspected pedophile wanted in Australia.

Under the deal, the former United Torah Judaism leader pleaded guilty to breach of trust but prosecutors dropped an obstruction of justice charge, allowing him to avoid a moral turpitude enhancement that would have banned him from politics for several years.'

...
'According to the Haaretz daily, Jerusalem District Attorney Danny Vitman said at the hearing that the severity of Litzman’s actions was clear, but added that “there were no financial or personal interests” that motivated Litzman, and that “his actions did not cause damage.”

Litzman’s attorney Jack Chen said that the former lawmaker “took responsibility for his actions,” and defended him: “Out of 600,000 inquiries that he handled, on this occasion, there was a failure of judgment.”

The Movement for Quality Government decried the deal when it was signed in January, calling it “shameful” and noting that it came on the heels of Shas party leader Aryeh Deri’s tax offenses plea deal earlier that month.

“We will all pay a price for this conduct,” they warned.'
...
'Elected to the Knesset in 1999, Litzman was the de facto head of the Health Ministry for more than a decade, serving as either deputy or full health minister from 2009 until mid-2020.

Last year, Litzman stepped down as chair of the ultra-Orthodox United Torah Judaism party after 18 years at the helm, with Moshe Gafni taking the lead.'
