Bloodstained Angel
Premiership Player
This is what Malthouse was reported to have said about the 25 possession game from Paul Williams yesterday :
A sour Malthouse feigned indifference at the press conference, describing Williams' 25 possession, seven mark game as ``okay'' and swung a punch after the bell at his former player by rhetorically asking the press ``has he played good footy this year?''
``We didn't make a decision, Paul Williams made the decision very easy for us because he didn't want to be at the footy club,'' Malthouse said, moustache twitching.
``Paul is 28 years of age, he joins Cresswell, Dunkley, Lewis, Luff, Maxfield, Schwass as (Swans) players 28 to 34 years of age.
``We see our football club being developed by young players and those that want to be at the club.''
Malthouse argued the players Collingwood received in the complicated Williams trade - James Clement, Brodie Holland and Carl Steinfort - would serve the club better in the long-term than a 28-year-old Williams.
But not today.
Couldn't handle the fact that a player you let go has now returned to put in his best game of the year to put your guys to the sword hey Mick ?
Malthouse was comprehensively out-coached and out-smarted by Rodney Eade yesterday. His petulant outburst at the press conference was just a bad end to a bad day at the office from Mister Sour Grapes.
cheers
