Man Armed With Gun At AVV Airport

🥰 Love BigFooty? Join now for free.

A worrying event today where a man has allegedly boarded a Jetstar flight at Avalon Airport dressed as an airport worker and carrying a gun.

An air hostess confronted the man asking for ID which he was unable to provide leading to the man becoming agitated.

Not sure exactly where the gun was or how he’s got it into the airfield.

One of the passengers apparently wrestled with the gunman and held him until police could detain him.

Shocking. There will be a huge investigation into this

Someone rang into the Tom Elliot program on 3AW this morning and said there was a man dressed in camo gear, with what looked like a bullet proof vest and a firearm wandering down a main road (can't remember which one). By the end of the call he had been caught by the cops.

Seems it was the day for it.

How did they find him?

The usual mainstream media bullshit.

It claims that the man entered the plane dressed as a maintenance worker and was carrying a knife and a shotgun. When passengers realised he was armed, they wrestled him to the ground with the assistance of the pilot.

The same report says police were called to the airport about 2.50pm after reports a man with a firearm attempted to board a commercial flight. Victoria Police said in a statement. "The man was detained before getting onto the plane and police called".

He was certainly on the plane in the extended vision that I just watched, with old mate Barry from aisle one having hold of him.

How can you listen to Tom Elliot, an absolute moron who reckons he's the most influential man in Melbourne. tool on all fronts.

They just showed footage taken by a passenger sitting front row of the plane, and as per both the footage & passenger reports

  • the man was dressed as a maintenance worker, including two work belts with tools
  • also in those tool belts was a gun and a knife
  • passengers were already boarding the plane when he tried boarding the plane, telling members of the aircrew that he was there to undertake "maintenance work"
  • the pilot was suspicious, and it was him who noticed the gun at which time he tackled the man
  • another passenger came to assist and held the man in a headlock until security arrived

A passenger who got a look at the man said his eyes were empty, nothing there

Sounds like a not so great experience for all those on board

So why did Victoria Police say "The man was detained before getting onto the plane"?

Either VicPol is wrong or the media reports are.

What an amazing guy Barry is. A humble hero.

Sounds like that VicPol report was potentially premature before all details were known or maybe it's about a different incident, because the footage is pretty clear that he's on the plane

And VicPol have also recently spoken to the media, and during that they thanked those on the plane who detained the individual until they were able to arrive on scene

Australian Of The Year!

First and foremost I’m glad all are okay.

What was the gunman’s motive though?

Av geek? Think that’s a big no.
Mental breakdown?
Suicide by plane for fame?
Hijacking for political or religious reasons?

I just can’t fathom why someone would bring a gun on a plane. It doesn’t make sense at all unless you’re intending ill deeds.

Why did VicPol attend?

I thought International Airports were Federal land, which is why Federal Police routinely do the walk throughs with sniffer dogs at Tullamarine.

Avalon is no longer operating as an international airport, it's currently only Jetstar with domestic flights to Adelaide, Gold Coast & Sydney

Maybe that's why no Federal Police

Because since Jon Faine retired, the ABC has no-one that interests me.
Tom Elliot reckons the current levels of international students is amazing for Australia because uh, one might become a Prime Minister of Singapore and look back at his time at RMIT and go 'let's be really nice to Australia!' and how they're not contributing to housing issues because 'they don't use usual houses like Aussies do.'

The guy has nfi, wasn't his old man just a bullying crook too?

Ah yes of course. Thank you

Does he? I must have missed that bit, it seems you listen to him more intently than I do.o_O

I'm pretty confident his old man was a crook, but I never listened to him. 3AW has only been a recent thing for me, like the last 2 to 3 years.

While that's true, I wonder how it works for the F1 and the Airshow, which are once a year and once every two years?
