Mourinho's issue was his man management style that basically led to creating irreparable internal rifts and so he had to go but his opinions were never wrong about the state of the club.
I have been saying this for a while now, something is broken at the club that revolves around player power. No manager in the world will be able to come in and sort out the club until the power is taken away from the players. Then there is the issue of having a banker who is running the football side of things.

There was a very simple solution sitting before the club prior to the beginning of the season....Get rid of Pogba as an example to all the players that player led insurrections simply will not be tolerated.
The club sat on it's hands & eventually took the soft option & easy way out....A lack of leadership all round.
