Mbeumo is another one whose form has dipped post-AFCON. Can be forgiven since he pretty much carried us in the first half of the season, though.

Hopefully, both he and Amad are back firing from day 1 next season.

Yep. Mbuemo dropped off, Sesko picked up and Cunha has ended the season red hot.

Yeah I’d be looking to offload 1 of Martinez or De Ligt, both injury prone, then you have young Yoro who also seems to be quite injury prone too.

With Casemiro and Ugarte going we need big investments in midfield, and yeah a new RB & LB.

Heaven for what was what 1 million? Looks like an absolute bargain now. Has come on alot this season too, but yeh we need alot more quality in midfield and defence this summer. Attack and GK are fixed, now the other areas need fixing.

Cunha was a matter of time as he is built for this league but I'm so happy for Sesko.

You could tell early on in the season when he was struggling that he was getting in the right spots but just wasn't in sync with the rest of the team and was still adapting to the league but once Carrick came in, he just took off big time. If he continues to develop at this rate, no reason why he shouldn't be a 20+ goals a season striker for us for a long time.

Also helped when the ball hogs in Rashford and Garnacho stopped trying to dribble and cut past defenders for worldies and we had players actively looking to feed the striker.

That's why I was a bit disappointed for Hojlund as he didn't get a fair shake at it as the target man.

Sesko is getting on the end of it now because we have a genuine attacking threat and midfielders are actually playing balls in.

It’s very rare to spend half a billion on new players and become a significantly worse side.

Not being spoken about enough.

Imagine if it was the other way around, and we were champions, spent £500m and sat 5th 6pts behind Pool who finished 15th last season.

Wouldn’t hear the end of it around this board.

I think it is inevitable that Carrick will get it and it is hard to make a case against it besides the concerns of history repeating.

Would prefer Tuchel or Nagelsmann but doubt they'll happen, hopefully we don't do anything stupid though and just give him a two year deal.

Cunha ruled put for the rest of the campaign ahead of thd world cup after an agreement between United and CBF to let Cunha recover fully from his adductor complaint.

I like this. In fact I reckon we should rest everyone in the squad and play the kids. It will get footballers rested up for the World Cup and our non-World Cup players can start their holidays now and not risk any long-term injuries playing in meaningless league games.

I thought that was bs clickbait with no actual substance to it?

Quite a few online sources reporting it including:

Fox Sports
Goal.com
The Mirror
GiveMeSport

Etc.

Interesting, not sure why we'd do it to be honest and what the Brazilian FA could even agree with a club.

CL secured. 3 games left. I'm sure Cunha would appreciate the extended break to get his body right.

Sure but we're an English club, not sure why we'd help another country out.

Yeh, it is odd, but we are probably doing it more as a goodwill gesture to him rather than Brazil. However we do also pay him a lot of money to play for us so....

Suppose we'll see if it's true.

Woah woah woah, let's not forget about getting Bruno his 2 assists to break the record. 😝

Oh yes, you are right. We can strap Bruno to the pitch until he gets the record. :p

Yep, have a feeling they have already decided Carrick is the man behind the scenes as there have been alot of leaks coming out recently about how we are planning to spend big to keep fans happy.

I feel as if investing in the squad properly this summer might be more important at this point as even if Carrick ends up failing next season, atleast the next manager will still have a good squad to work with.

Love when footballers come over from huge clubs and instantly fall in love with the club and become like fans when they leave. Schweinsteiger is like this as well. Both played most of their careers at Real Madrid and Bayern Munich and can recognise that Manchester United is Britain’s version of those clubs.

Add Varane to that list too. He still fondly talks about his time with us.

Good. I am happy he will never play another game for this football club. He always cared more about his wage and his good guy imagine in the media. Sell him to whoever is stupid enough to pay his full wage.

Bruno wins the Football Writers' Association's Footballer of the Year award.

Well deserved and I dare say, he will also win the PFA player of the year award which also will be well deserved.

Hopefully, we will soon be celebrating him breaking the all time total EPL assists in a single season record (currently set at 20 by Henry and KDB) and also, the all time top European leagues' total assists in a season record too (currently set at 21 by Messi and Muller).
