Biggest problem with Di Maria is he left after one season for a loss (clubs fault) but he wasn’t a bad player in his one season at United. Maguire has been a shocker for 3 years at club level.

ADM never wanted to go to England from memory. Much worse than Maguire IMO, who can play just not at this level.

Im not sure Maguire is even the worst signing at United currently.
That was the case and he was not a fan of LVG ball.

But Maguire definitely was a worse signing then Di Maria.

Could potentially by Antony the way he's going

I nearly spat my drink all over my screen reading this! What the hell are you guys all remembering?

Di Maria was absolutely atrocious. The stats will suggest he performed ok (he still got a few assists) but he was awful any time he got near the field. I mean, he was dropped for a cooked Ashley Young and he showed no desire to fight his way back into the team after that. He never wanted to be at the club and it showed every time he played. That makes him comfortably the worst high profile signing that we've made IMO.

Fair enough mate. It was a shit time back then.

He was fine for the first month or two. His house got burgled around then (wife and kids may have been there at the time) and he clearly gave up then. He started the season well though.

I'd have Pogba and Maguire ahead of him personally. But I hated Pogba so might be biased :moustache:

Mount and Onana done. A striker (Hojlund) surely the priority now.

We probably need to make sales first - Henderson (20m), Maguire (30-40m), McTom (20m?) Fred (20m?) should provide enough money to sign Hojlund assuming we can get them done. The wage bill will have come down a bit too after this window.

If McTom, Fred, and van Beek all go (fingers crossed) we may need another midfielder, although I'd be happy for Hannibal to get a go.

Definitely need a striker and I am okay with Hojlund. I would love a CB as depth/backup but it probably won’t happen in this window.

Mount/Onana/striker is a fine window at a minimum.

Yeah agreed.

I reckon we'll sign a 4th player after Hojlund (I expect that to happen, EtH seems to really be pushing the transfers). Could be a CB. Hopefully a young player with potential (Lavia?) rather than a list clogger that is another problem in a season or two.

Ambrat as a Casemiro backup would be good

Holjund i can't see happening they want 80 mil for him, hopefully we move away from him and go for a Ramos/Muani type player.

I mean 80 mil for a bloke who didn't even set the house on fire last year would rather move for the discounted Vlhaovic

I have seen some swirls around Alaba as another potential CB for us.

Pogba is a fair call. Guy has wasted his peak and was a huge let-down. Also, actively involved in white anting and encouraging a toxic culture at the club.

Lots of different prices quoted for Hojlund, doubt the others you named will be cheaper. Juve are trying to sell Vlahovic to buy Lukaku, not really a good sign.

Striker should have been the first signing really, it's the most important position to fill for us.

It's just a bad window to get a striker, there are no available that are decent and cheapish

You are signing and hoping the youngester comes good or you are paying for a proven quanity

Maybe we take Felix on loan and hope for the best
