CountryRace You've made your thoughts on Ashley Young and LVG very clear in this thread, so much so that it doesn't need to be referenced again.

If you wish to discuss new topics relating to United, that's fine. However, going around in circles about what you don't like about Young and LVG needs to stop.

Enjoy watching depay as the ten and mata on the right for the next three years
If Depay is playing as a no. 10 in three years time id expect him to be one of the best in the world.

Looking at the squad currently and with not much business to be done hopefully the younger guys get chances to impress. Top 4 battle looks the go again atm. Hopefully get a Cup win somewhere been a damn while since one!

Understood and fair point. I will drop it for a few months
However, to be fair, people as recently as last night , are complaining about depay as the ten and mata played out of position
...

Talk about the elephant in the room

Recommending this video to watch

Nice Vid cookie. Can probably start watching from the 16 minute mark.

A few takeaways:
- The drills the Spurs u18s were having trouble with, he had Ajax u9's doing perfectly
- He's similar to LVG, absolute hardass perfectionist, very demanding. Can see why he would piss players off after a while :D
- I'd imagine the redevelopment of the academy won't bear fruit for a while but we'll be developing players who are far better technically in a few years
- With the names he was reeling off as having coached, you'd have to be a real bloody idiot not to listen to him.
- The style of play being coached is very regimented. Once it is mastered, we should be beautiful to watch.

1st team coach and GK coach.
Would hope he has some connection to the youth setup.

Some of those u18 Spurs players were pretty ordinary. Watching some of the finishing in those drills, was woeful.

Correct, the word at the end of last season was that the academy was being revamped. LVG and Hoek would have had a huge influence on this. During the season they probably wouldn't do much but they'd be in constant communication with the youth coaches. It's interesting that most of the backroom staff including youth staff have been relieved of their duties and yet Warren Joyce remains. LVG must rate him or he must be good at listening to instructions!

If Hoek is talking about u9's mastering that drill, it might take a while for the changes to be seen.

Those Spurs U18's were horrible with their finishing.
I don't think i saw even 1 go into the net where they had that 4-pass training drill at the end

I said from the get go that Ramos was just using us, I was coming around a little as journos were saying he legit wanted to come to United but it appears that was all BS. Was never coming to United.

Romero in goal again, just sell DDG ffs, what a disaster this is becoming.

Also I'm getting the vibe that we are done for the window, don't think Pedro will come.

I've read that we bid 18 million pounds for Pedro.
Omg just pay the extra 4 mil for his release you mugs.

I think against Aston Villa we'll go:
Romero
Darmian, Smalling, Blind, Shaw
Mata, Schneiderlin, Carrick, Young
Memphis, Rooney

Best scenario for us would be to score a couple of goals early, sit back and keep possession til the 70th minute mark and make a few subs.
I'd be looking to take off Carrick, Rooney and Mata

Alternatively, a 4-3-3 of:
Romero,
Darmian, Smalling, Blind, Shaw
Carrick, Schneiderlin, Herrera
Mata, Rooney, Young

You are the ultimate pessimist mate!

Have you seen any of the comments coming out of Barca lately? He looks like he's definitely ours if we really do want him, LVG seems to have been dropping more hints lately suggesting that we are keen too.
