Manchester United: Where to next?

Sad development when one of the most revered clubs in world football is setting itself for sportswashing.

Completely different to PSG, Chelsea, Newcastle and City. All were tin pot with no reputation or prestige before they got their blood money.

Glazers trashing United’s legacy if they sell to this group.
:D:D:D

If you were the Glazers and the offers were about the same, you wouldn't be selling to the guy who was going to build a new $2 billion stadium and buy all the best players in the world.

Not if you desperately want to retain a stake in the club so you can pillage it some more.

Yeah. QATAR have lowballed again whilst Ratcliffe has given the Glazers what they want. Agreed by the end of the week and then it's up to the lawyers which will be a few weeks.

Not to sure about that, if the shares drop in value for any reason it will devalue what the Glazers could expect to get at a later date. Its whether the Glazers want to cash in fully now or later on whilst risking a lower share price.

No one has lowballed either, both bids are very large for purchasing a sporting team. Some reports Ratcliffe has adjusted the percentage as well to give the Glazers more percent.

That's up to the lawyers to sort out. I'm sure the Glazers will put a minimum price or cap and collar on the share price.

Qatar is a PR machine. They haven't outbid Ratcliffe since the first bid and this is their 4th bid.

If Glazers stay, I'm out. And Ratcliffe is no fan of the club if he keeps them around. The team will languish mid table without comparative investment to the likes of Newcastle, Chelsea, Man City, Liverpool. Arsenal will remain ahead of us in the near future. We'll be competing for 6th-8th. Ratcliffe will be no different to the Glazers, he'll have to borrow money to pay for investment in players and infrastructure and take dividends for his own pockets along the way. Or he won't make any meaningful investment at all and use any profits to slowly reduce the already existing debt at the club and the debt that Ineos will incur to actually buy the club. Glazers need to gtfo.

You could argue the same with the English press just from the other day saying it was a done deal for Ratcliffe.
I think what's very clear is the Glazers see the potential of more money up front with Qatar because otherwise they wouldn't have allowed another bid.

For the club that needs a new stadium and in debt the Qatar bid is much stronger, if the Glazers truly want to stick around for a few more years than sure Jims is better for them in that regard, just not convinced that is the case.

That's because Ratcliffe put in the best bid. Joel and Avram don't want to sell now and so Ratcliffes bid is preferred. Then Qatar leak the fact that they have made a big take it or leave it offer which guarantees less money to Joel and Avram and a whole bunch of PR fluff that the Glazers don't give a flying * about like pledges on financing stadiums.
