Good Article by Simon Taufel on the Mankad. He has consistently been rated the best umpire in the world, and is regularly on rules committees.

Cuts through a lot of bullsh!t written by people who don't know the laws. The most interesting thing is that he points out it was the players who were in favour of toughening the Mankad laws (ie - making it easier to run out batsmen) in 2011.
