Shouldn't have even been a free kick. If you want to complain about something, complain about the artificial turf

Rear deltoid you say? As you will know the deltoid muscle is found on the upper arm, not the back, therefore it is not a push in the back. And unless I’m mistaken the Laws do not consider a bump to the arm to be prohibited contact.

The AFL will never outright say it in raw terms but the reality is, the outcome-based adjudication regime that has largely determined MRO/tribunal decisions in recent years is as it is solely because of concussions, brain injury and the focus on them.1) Nobody's forcing you to read it. Tune out if it upsets you so.
2) It is a legitimately interesting case - falling between the 'nothing to see here' if Martin gets up unhurt and '3 weeks minimum' if he'd got concussed. I think there's some genuine curiosity about how the AFL approaches duty of care for non-head injuries.

You must be real fun at partiesDangerous act. Using that much force sending a player over the boundary is something the AFL need to stamp out. It can cause serious injury to the player or even potentially a fan.
Fun fact. Mansell was suspended earlier in the season for 3 games for a dangerous push resulting in injury.
Nice Facebook reply. You must be real fun at parties

I think this is enough precedence that Mansell should get sighted. 2-3 weeks only and yes it is outcome based but players really need to not go as hard on knocking other players out of the ground or face the consequences. This is as dangerous as pushing players into marking packs and as far as I'm aware there is still a rule about it.![]()
NEW VISION: Every angle of the push that banned McGovern
Additional footage released of Jeremy McGovern's incident with Matt Guelfiwww.afl.com.au
According all in here he should have got life**** me. To all the school kids in here: actions that indirectly lead to concussion are suspendable, because repeated head knocks lead to a thing called CTE, which is bad.
You do not get concussion in your knee.
Its actually exactly the same as the McGovern one because if the McGovern one was in the middle of the park there'd be nothing to see there either.[Checks to see if Carlton has the Tigers coming up]Nothing in it. If Mansell did that further inside the playing field it wouldn't even be a topic here but because Martin hit the ground on the other side of the boundary line it's apparently an issue.
It's different to the McGovern incident in that McGovern pushed Guelfi into the chair and (maybe?) fence.
What you mean is if they'd both happened in the middle of the park they'd be the same. They didn't both happen there though and McGovern pushed Guelfi into the chair, so the two incidents are quite different. Its actually exactly the same as the McGovern one because if the McGovern one was in the middle of the park there'd be nothing to see there either.
Anyway, I agree with the general sentiment about that godforsaken AstroTurf that they have near the fence. Is there any purpose at all of not having it all be grass?
