not a Federer fan.. would not watch him even if u paid me.. BORINGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG

Wait... Seeing Tennis at its peak is boring to you? Seeing a player master nearly every facet of the game at the highest level is boring to you? A player whose style is so versitile that he can win points from anywhere in the court is boring? :o

Suppose you'd rather watch Safin break raquets or Nadal pick his wedge?

PS -- I do enjoy watching Safin play Tennis

I dont find Federa boring at all - I appreciate his greatness and his tennis is esquisid(sp?) to watch but hes not my favorite

Back to Marat - his fire and not knowing what he would do next is his appeal

Hes very charasmatic and a great sence of humor

Lets hope he has one more grand slam before he bows out

Typical female teeny bopper sports fan - watching because 'omg hes like, so like, HOT!' whilst being completely ignorant toward one of the best in the sport

For the record, I'm not a Federer fan, but to say he's boring is just ridiculous. He plays great tennis.

At his best, the only true match for Roger at his peak. That match in 2005 needs to be placed in context- it was Roger's only real grand slam loss when he was rightfully considered unbeatable on all surfaces other than clay.

When playing as only he can, one of the very few sportspeople that I would consider genuinely entertaining by themselves.

Safin when asked if he will retire this year said I'm sick of being asked this, lets just leave it.

Hopefully that means he's considering :D

the legend rolls into the third round with a certain matchup against Federer, I for one, cannot wait

These appreciation threads really need to be used much less hey Aaron?

this is quite funny

A 2 time slam winner, former #1 who is playing his last year on tour, entertained many people for many years deserves an appreciation thread just a little more then a 19 yr old nobody who lost in the 2nd round.

wouldn't one say?

19 yr old nobody who lost in the 2nd round.

And a young Aussie at that, which afterall is where most of the people here on BF come from, including myself if you haven't already noticed my avatar.

I'll leave it at that, could go on for longer but can't be bothered engaging in pointless arguments.

ohhh i get it, im un-australian because i think Klein will be average, well i guess that makes 95% of us

What if people just enjoy watching good tennis? than always going for an Australian, there is more to a sport then seeing an Aussie win, or in Kleins case, lose.

Marat Safins right toenail >>>>>>>> Klein.

Well basically you are saying we have to praise the Aussie, instead of watching a good Tennis match.

Basically isn't good enough. I did or I didn't?

In no way was I suggesting to watch any Australian player over a great tennis match. Hell, I didn't even watch much of Dokic the other day.

I can enjoy Tennis without needing an Australian to go well, if one goes well, it's a bonus, but I don't seen Klein ever doing much.

I just think an Appreciation thread was a bit much for Klein.

So can I, that's why I watch tennis basically all year round.

An Australian winning is a bonus for me as it is for you, I'm not sure which track you're trying to go down here Trav.

I dont really care whether you watched Dokic play or not. I care that you think that Klein showed enough to suggest he will be a very good tennis player, because to me to showed precious little

Well if you're so worried about my opinion of how Klein is shaping up and is developing, drop me a PM. It's as easy as that.

See, so what?! Pushing that patriotism again...

I appreciate Marat Safin.

You don't like to see young Aussie players or Aussie players in general do well or succeed then Vulture I take it? I thought it was natural to give criticism, which includes positive, to your own country's players and enjoy it when they try their best. Obviously I was mistaken...

I guess some people don't think he did well?? he did ok, but to get excited over it is still a stretch.

Can we keep this out of the Safin thread??
