If anyone wants to know what it feels like to have two, count 'em, TWO, sheets of marble dropped on your big toe ... well as of about lunchtime today, I became the one to ask.

I'm still breathin', nasty bruise and decent scrape, but can walk ok. Am refusing to get it looked at. Funny thing is, in five minutes time I'm off to see my aunt, who gashed her leg playing the POKIES! of all things, and is in hospital.

The pain subsided after a while, and I was able to walk reasonably, UNTIL I PUT THIS BLOODY SNEAKER ON!!!!

Shall keep you updated ... cor blimey ...

I did that a few years back. I pulled the thing over my foot while digging my feet in to take the weight! Lost a toenail out of that one. Still fared better than the co-worker that took himself and a full pallet over the side of the truck before he reached the hoist!

Anyway, it's enough to get ya hopping mad Mobben! ;)

I get acrylic nails put on & I've just been diagnosed by my nail tech with this condition where my nail fibre is lifting from the nail bed of my pinky & rapidly spreading up to my cuticle.

It doesn't hurt but its got me really worried. What sort of freak would I look like with my fingernail completely lifted off my pinky?

It will grow back, might look a bit strange for a while. You might have a fungal condition under the nail. I'd forget the acrylic nails from now on.

Worst thing that happened to me was I knocked a can of catfood off the supermarket shelf right onto my toe. No one was around to hear me scream and I had to hobble home with a broken toe. Couldn't wear a proper shoe for 3 months. Luckily it was in the summer.

Yeah I hear ya. I have to apply some anti-fungal drops to assist the healing process. Ewwwww!

I had someone drop an old claw foot cast iron bath on my toe, not funny at all. Also had to have both big toe nails ripped of, 6 needles of anaethetic in each toe just to do that

Ok they made me get it chcked out while I was at Box Hill hospital seeing Aunty Bet.

Yes, I had a small fracture. Taped it up, gave me some crutches and anti-inflams, and FOUR DAYS OFF WORK!!! WOOHOO ... AND I'VE STILL GOT 36 MORE DAYS OFF WORK I WORK TOWARDS IF I CAN AIM AT THE OTHER TOES!!!!!

Crutches are silly, I've just been hopping instead. American wife reckons its great cause she's finally got the pet kangaroo she always wanted!!!

The two sheets of marble were there for the missus who uses them as a book press, she teaches art and one of her specialties is bookbinding ... and toe flattening ...

All is well, got my foot elevated and even though it hurt a fair bit last night, not much pain at all today .... AND FOUR DAYS OFF WORK!!!

Ahhh the profits of injury... ;)

I once had a car drive over my foot, but for some weird reason I have a very high pain barrier in my feet, and I had no damage!

Might explain why I have had stress fractures in the last few years...

That's fortunate because it must have disappointed her originally to discover we don't all have one in our backyard! ;)
