This week against Hawthorn should be called the Marc Murphy Cup. Winner gets Shannon Hurn or Xavier Ellis Loser gets Marc Murphy

that may be the case if hawthorn win as the gap will be 6 points on us and 4 points behind collingwood,
but if we win we go 2 points ahead and both teams have potentially winnable games in the last 5 rounds.

Not sure why you say the loser gets Murphy as he is rated higher than Hurn in some fantasy drafts and as high as number 1 himself. Looks like Ellis and Murphy are being rated together and Hurn a tad behind for the midfielders and Dowler ahead of Clarke for the KPP.

Um, doesn't Murphy have to decide if he's going to Brisbane or not? All of this speculation could be for nothing..

Murphy is just being factored in because it looks like he is unlikely to go to Brisbane at this stage.

Quick question, if he was assured of going number one, would that be a positive or a negative for Murphy? Being number one is a boost to the ego but you also get the pressures that go with it. Being a third round Father/Son pickup means there is no pressure.

it probably wont come down to this but he does get a bit of more money if he goes at 1 but yes of course there is a bit of added pressure of going at 1. it shouldnt b a factor in his decision though

Well he means, the loser of the match will in fact be the long term winner and secure the wooden spoon and in turn the #1 draft pick and in turn Murphy

Quite right, I read it the wrong way initially.
