So Murphy performs under pressure once every 15 games?

We were without Stevens and Judd last year and Murphy copped the number one tag, he still performed better than Thomas mind you, and Thomas doesn't and never really warrants a tag. But for what its worth I don't think he is soft, and will still be a very good player, just not as consistent.

By his very nature Murphy should be more consistent, he is a ball winning midfielder, Thomas on the other hand does the impossible, hard to do that on a consistent basis but he pulls it out often enough to be a star.

An Average of 29.7 disposals, 6 marks and 3 tackles per game isn't good enough for Kane?

Not to mention he practiacally won us the game against Fremantle.

WTF?? Did i miss something or did Kane kick the winning goal after the siren? Take him out of the match and you win by....8 goals??

Kane won the ball out of the middle nearly everytime it was there, he gave off a few goal assists and won a heap of contested footy, I also said he practiacally won us the game, players can win games without doing it in the dying minutes, they can set you up or just be so consistent throughout the 4 quarters and Kane did that.

Thomas is better as he has more skill, is more exciting to watch and can play AFL better.

Thomas is a "flashy" player, but without the talent to back it up. lol. He is the junk-time goal kicking specialist i.e. when the game's over, and the pressure is off, he'll kick a goal or 2 to improve the stats. The problem is he goes missing in the heat of battle when it counts most. Murph is several talent classes above, and importantly performs under pressure e.g V Pies game. :)

Parrot, why would anybody pay any attention to you? You're possibly the most biased troll on bigfooty. If you really watched Dale Thomas, you would know what you just said is a load of shit. He kicked one junk time goal against Carlton, so suddenly that's how he gets all of his goals? What about the fantastic goal from 50 he kicked earlier in the match, that started a minor comeback? What about the two games he has arguably won of his own boot? What about when he put us in front with 2 minutes left in the semi-final? Ooooops.

I just realised that by replying to this I paid attention to you, but that's how irritating your ignorance is. Or, is it deliberate trolling? Nah, you barrack for Carlton, it's ignorance.

Marc Murphy, he doesn't stop and his foot skills are very good.

Dale Thomas is a good player but hasnt progressed like they he would

Marc Murphy

Go Kangas!!

Not saying i disagree with choice but murphy's foot skills are probably the area that let him down the most, also thomas is i believe progessing faster than we would have thought

Bitter much?

Not voting for the Carlton player doesn't mean he's a kid.

Look at the way this person wrote it, as if a child would. The same poster who has a complete bias against us and trolls us on a regular basis. When someone says a player is better because he's "more exciting" and "can play AFL better" (the latter being quite ridiculous) without saying how or why, then it's going to be shot down.

I don't care that he voted Thomas, I only care about the reasoning behind it.

you've got to be kidding right??

please take the time to watch a carlton game before making such an outrageous comment. if i had to choose one player in our team to be putting the bull down fev's throat i'd pick murphy in a heartbeat. by far the best kick to a lead at carlton. if someone could find the stats for assists, i'd say he'd be right up there in the comp. in his first year he only played 12 games and still led carlton (okay we were a sh!t team) for most assists. and he's improved heaps since then. nothing wrong with murphy's passing at all, i'm always very confident when he's got the ball in his hands.

seriously thomas has it all over murphy. thomas a bloody good player who will do way more for collingwood than murphy will do for carlton. thomas can win games off his own boot and has the ability to bring others into the game while doing something brilliant.

Thomas is a fairly ordinary player. Massively overrated.

Murphy has a long way to go, but he's still a far superior player to Thomas.
