Rumour Marc Murphy upset/targeted ?

I'm not happy we apologized. Sledging is part of any sport. The more competitive the sport (NBA, etc) the more the sledging. Sledging is an effective way to put an opponent off of his game - to get an edge. It may be the difference between winning and losing. The fact we apologized to me is pathetic. You look at all the successful dynasty teams of the past 25 years, and more often than not the best teams were also the best sledges. If Murphy doesn't like what was said, then IMO there is a fair chance it is true, and if it is true then other players are just speaking the truth. If Murphy doesn't like the truth then maybe he shouldn't of taken his missus back.

The AFL are trying to squeeze cash out of women at the moment, so of course they're going to want to smooth over this type of thing.

It's not the sledging that the AFL and the clubs care about - it's the misogynistic content of the sledge that is the concern.


Clubs don't care about winning - they care about making money. Alienating a big chunk of your customer base isn't a great idea.
