Thought his performances since his return from injury, his leadership whilst Juddy was out, warrants a toast, and we don;t toast him enough.

Shame he was out injured, he's been in brownlow form, a little champ

Reckon he is our next skipper

:hearts:

Has shown enough, hasn't he?

Wouldn't be surprised for Judd to announce he'd be happy to accept a handover, in the way Reiwoldt did yesterday

Yeh he has been fantastic, great leadership and guts

Would really love for Juddy to get Carlton Premiership Captain next to his name, the guy has been the main catalyst behind our more professional outlook, especially on the field and deserves to reap the benefits and kudos of that. .. However He'll eventually need to hand it over and Murphy looks primed to take the reigns soon. .. I know some don't like it but could he and Murphy do a co-captaincy handover in 2013?

A player doesn't need "C" next to their name to be a leader and I think the CarltonFC is a better place now that Murph has more experience in that role.

Whilst he copped a lot of criticism at the time , I actually didn't mind Grant Thomas's method of naming a different Captain every year for a few years. At least externally, it always seemed to me that St.Kilda had a good crop of leaders.

Absolute gun.

Seemed like Juddy and Murph had switched roles yesterday, Murph was inside and outside, doing all the hard stuff when he had to and Judd was receiving more. This mightn't be surprising since Juddy looks quite a bit slimmer lately and I wonder if the club is trying to get him more outside and less reliance on him.

Funny pic in the Sun(? I think.. don't have it with me) today, Juddy looked enraged and was stalking towards Ryder in that melee and little Murph was holding him back :p

Surely, has taken over as our number one player now. No disrespect to Juddy who is starting to wind down his career to an extent.

I've made the mistake of thinking Judd's winded down his career before, won't do it again.

I think that who performs best on a particular day is whoever gets the weakest tag, which is great from a team perspective.

But on topic Murph is an absolute star and just keeps improving. I was super impressed by how quickly he came back and performed after his injury. Very proud blues supporter.

Winding down in the sense that he has peaked and is at an age where players look to have more time out of the clinches. Murphy, McLean and Carrazzo have enabled Juddy to be freed up and he also seems to get more time forward than previous years.

Agreed, thought his 'dress rehearsal' was a triumph but, upon reflection, he's simply performing at the same elite level he's been producing since R1 last year.

Would be nice for Juddy to hold the Cup aloft if opportunity presents itself in the next year or so though - maybe we should consider co-captains?

Murph will bounce back even more after some well earned R&R and a full pre-season to get some muscle back on shoulders. I'd like to see Judd as Captain holding #17 up - if for no other reason, so we can all give a middle finger salute to all the Judd haters out there.

Back when he had hair Judd shared the premiership dais once before - with former captain Benny C.

Ummm at the risk of stating the bleeding obvious mate - in Navy Blue. ;)

.....

Yeah, not sure about it. Against bummers, I couldn't tell, although, he looked seriously ripped :D.

I don't know what others think, but, I'm under the impression (disillusionment) that Juddy is better with his handpasses out from congestion, not to mention his strength in getting the contested ball, whereas Murph seems to be the better (more accurate and creative) kick.

Less reliance on Juddy is a good thing, definitely, but from a selfish point of view, I'd love to see him remain as an inside-mid. Super-human extraction of the ball is nice to watch ;)

Spot on IMO. Murph is one of the most damaging players in the comp with his feet forward of center. Judd is a clearance beast and better with his hands.

I agree, I like the idea of Judd spending more time on the outside and up forward, Hopefully he works on his kicking for goal during the preseason =D

Add Gibbs to being really damaging by foot. Hopefully he spends most of the remaining games in the centre
