The only thing that tips it for me is the initial assault. To me that puts for me it's more likely than not that it was more than just a friendship.
All that says to me is that the husband believes it happened, and he's far more likely to believe that story than he is to accept one where she has a mental illness, especially if she has gone as far as to leave 'clues' for him to discover.
The husband believing it happened is about as relevant to the truth of the matter as a public opinion poll on the subject in the Advertiser.
Without genuine evidence, it's just he said she said, and she's just not that believable to me - you have to be doing well to lose to a politician in the honesty and believability stakes.
