Nah that was a poor tactic. Low and not necessary. I have no love for family first but this is the sort of tactic that noone likes.

If the right of the labour party don't get the message, then god help them at the next election. God help them. And I am not religous.

Listening to Holloway now, he certainly hasn't got the message in public, puts lets see what they do in the background.
 
Good result tonight for a number of reasons and I think both parties will be happy

1. Labor will be happy that they have retained government, but it is a massive wake up call for them. Especially for the ministers.

2. The Liberals should be happy with the swing, but I also think they are quietly happy they did not win government. I got the feeling as the campaign went on, the Libs started to get frightened that they may actually win and then be forced to try and deliver on the massive promises they have made. I truly think if the Libs had snuck in, you may have seen a one term government.

3. The Libs are in an excellent position for 2014. In fact if they don't win, or are not at least able to form a government with some independents then they have blown it. I think 2014 is there for them to lose it, rather than Labor win it.

If they want to sell the land they'll have to amend the Adelaide Parklands Act.

They won't be able to do that with the current Legislative Council.

Lets just say there's going to be alot more said, especially by the PPS about the current RAH site if the new hospital goes through.

According to the deposited plan under the Adelaide Park Lands Act it is within the Adelaide Park Lands.

Hence under the current Act if it stops being used as a hospital it has to be returned to Park Lands.

A total Labor waste of money and space.

And true or not the Adelaide Park Lands Act and the Adelaide Park Lands Plan is a creation of the Rann Labor Government.

It at least shows a total lack of forward planning of this hospital and that it is just another, expedient political promise.
 
could be we shall wait and see....the act could of been a case of it was a good ided at the time - lets hope it can get sorted now

Cant the Fed Government buy it though? that could be one way to get around it

How has the idea of a new hospital only occured to them since then?

The problem is that the left hand doesn't know what the far left hand is doing.

Also, I just dry-retched at the hearing of 4 more years, **** i hope Atkinson gets moved away from AG.

I voted for them 1st in LC as it was my only way to cast a direct protest vote against Atkinson.

In other news somewhat disappointed Winderlich hasn't been re-elected. Hope D4D can do what he did.

I'd disagree.

It definitely needs an overhaul, but it's not beyond repair. Some of the specialist areas are still world class and state of the art, and we're demolishing them.

Even if it is beyond repair, knock it down and rebuild it where it is, new and improved.

And this is what pisses me off the most.

We're going to use arguably the largest decent piece of land around the CBD for a Hospital, and the current Hospital site can't be used for anything.

Call me Antony Green. Pretty much spot on the mark. Liberal is the more popular party in the state in 2010.

Looks like it is 51.5% to the Liberals and 48.5% to Labor in the two party preferred vote.

A giant ****ing hospital, and a giant ****ing convention centre are about as exciting as batshit.


But hey. Atleast we have the windmills, and lance. Oh and the pandas.

I don't think you understand. Under the present legislation if the current RAH site has it's use as a hospital discontinued it should be returned to park lands. Hence with the movement of the RAH down the road we're potentially losing alot of available space within the city.

It's not that the RAH is in a bad place as much as the fact that any other spot for it inevitably involves the giving up of land that could otherwise be econocally used.

Ever wonder why we never heard what Rann plans to use the RAH site for should his Taj Marj Hal ;) go through?
