Yeah, def's dont agree with you Deathly but to each their own. Collins didnt show anywhere near as much as Adams for mine, he definitely isn't untradeable. I think Adams (if fit) is a decent upgrade on Collins. I would easily do next years second and Collins for Hamling and Adams if the Dogs let us and I think Hamling is worth about pick 35-40 this year.
I agree Adams showed more but Collins wasn't that far off imo. Collins is also a year younger. Statistics are always hard to interpret but the comparison is interesting and gives some idea:

I think Collins will look a heap better if Freo had the same midfield pressure that WB do. I would love both on our list plus Hamling personally.

Adams is better on exposed form than Collins - as expected based on draft position. BUT Adams foot injury could be very serious long term and Collins still has the potential to be a very solid AFL KPD. We are best keeping Collins for now and assessing Adams at the end of next year if both (namely Collins) are happy to move and Adams has come good. Otherwise our docs would have to be very confident if he comes now in which case I would look at it. Dogs might want a pick as well and hence again why we are better waiting.

Adams rebound ability is the key with his kicking. Very dangerous long kicking delivery which catches teams out of position. Collins is not at that level with his kicking.

What can you tell us Doc about the injury?

If Hamling comes in then Alex Pearce should be played forward. He showed potential there and Ross should give it another go. Give it a go in pre season at least

We're bringing in bona fide forwards to play forward precisely so we don't have to resort to such stop-gaps in desperation. Alex's forte is as a key backman and that is where he should and will be developed IMO.

True. Can be a good swing man though. I think he could do a better job than kersten if we get him and tabener too lol

With Dawson,Johnson,Pearce,Collins, hamling they can't all play in backline. A couple will miss out on 22 or go forward.

johnson forward even :) it's going to be interesting to see the forward and back set up in 2017.It's exciting to think how much flexability we have now with a couple of trades and players hopefully healthy

Dawson will be play for Peel, and maybe Johnson, and Collins can rotate in and out of the team like Pavlich last season.
I like this idea, but if you are winning , want to play finals , old habits kick in . That mean play until MJ injured.

Very true. Lyons sticks with a 22 until injuries and lack of form or effort.

The doggies have shown that you can use most of your list and still make finals.

Please enlighten me as to the reasons why the dogs played most of their list - other than injuries, lack of form and effort.

That the dogs had just completed a 5 year rebuild, whereas for some time we've been in a position where we needed to turf out a large a chunk of our list, may have played a tiny part in our lack of depth compared to theirs I would suggest.

People can say that they got a lot of unjuries but they used 36 players by round 15.

They do have a policy of dropping players out of form earlier than a Lyons would.
