Thank you, thanks you very much.

Solid as an Ox and not scared to throw his weight around. Battled hard and took some scalps in 2016 when our backline was under immense pressure most of the year. Pretty composed with ball in hand and doesn't panic. Disposal sound but not elite. Height: 194cm Weight: 92kg Date of birth: 15 June 1994

He's an AFL player no doubt about it.
Nice work on the selective editing!

oh and thanks all for the info on Collins. Would be a very weird and unique trade given last year's draft if they were both involved.

Not sure whether Freo deserve applause or a giant FU for their KPP rebuild this off season. Probably both.
Tell me about this Collins guy - I haven't watched many Freo games this year to be honest...

Short version: Similar players, but Adams > Collins.

Longer version: Collins is strong, good hands and an honest 1 on 1 defender. He reads the ball fairly well and for a relatively inexperienced player is pretty good at knowing when to zone off his man and when to stick hard. But Adams would have him for pace and agility. Don't know the numbers, but Collins would be slightly taller I think and certainly holds his own against the bigger fwds in the league, he's also a year younger (22 this year). From the little I've seen, Adams has a slightly better kick on him. Collins is OK, but Adams has pretty nice long kick on him.

This is a useful start. http://www.fremantlefc.com.au/player-profile/sam-collins.
Straight into the Box Hill leadership group as a 19 year old, so quality character. Very easy to teach.
Got an early call-up due to injuries to MJ, Silvagni and Pearce and acquitted himself very well.
Physically very similar to Adams, 1cm taller and younger and Collins has added muscle to be around the same weight.
Attacks the ball very well in the air and good decision maker when it comes to zoning off.
Has stood some very big names (Buddy, Lynch) and acquitted himself well.
Not so good on small and mid-size forwards (Jack Watts smashed him in Darwin), lacks pace off the mark and has the occasional kicking blooper.
No problems with his disposal by hand.

Also I think Bondy is a Scottish tight Arse and having take a lesser role in trade period is a master stroke.
Is he Scottish??Thought the club's offer for McCarthy last year was verging on generous and happy he was too tight to offer any more.

Nice work on the selective editing!

This pic pretty much sums it up.

Would absolutely be gutted by losing Collins but if it's to bring Adams home then I'm all for it.

For dogs supporters reference Sam is a beast, once he locks down his big thighs like a broadside battlesuit there's no moving him, fantastic one on one and his intercept marking has been outstanding for a first year AFL player. I think the only thing Adams has him covered for is his closing speed, but makes up for it in brute strength, a true lock down defender.

I hope a deal can be worked out but would not be disappointed at all to keep Sam for another season.

What's with the urgency for Adams anyways? Played half the season and Collins won't be pushed out of our rebuild.

"If a deal is not possible, Adams is happy to stay at the Whitten Oval for 2017.

The Western Bulldogs have told Adams, 23, that a trade is highly unlikely."

Morris, Boyd and Murphy all on the way out within the next couple of seasons I don't see how Bulldogs can afford to lose Marcus AND Hamling. They're not worth overs. At best I see us having a shot at Marcus end of next year. Marcus on the way out I think Hamling might stay.

Means we don't lose Collins who will be better than both of them in the next 2 years.

How different to Dover and Young handle the potential trades? Ying and Yang.

Yeah. Stride are very professional with the way they go about it.
As he's happy to stay we need to get Hamling over the line first. If we can do both for 35 and Collins all the better.

He has some family illness issues.

They have Kieran Collins in the wings

He's already basically said he'll see out his contract. Next year with Dawson and likely Johnson out we could look at him.
Hamling is still a priority and Kersten a nice extra.
Makes pick 7 interesting again with all the Logue talk. Maybe swinging back to English.

That's never good to hear about anyone but:

"Adams is happy to stay at Whitten Oval if a trade to Fremantle or West Coast cannot be facilitated."

“We’re not demanding a trade,” Dover said.

"Marcus is more than happy to go back and see out the next year of his contract."

"possibility for Marcus to at some stage go home"

Yeah, the Marcus trade can wait 12 months and not cost us a player just as good.

I doubt Collins will be better than Adams. I mean he might, but I doubt it. I'd say Adams is a step above at the moment and has some raw traits that Collins doesn't have (a touch faster, bit more agile).

Otherwise, completely agree with the rest - wont happen this year and there's little point pushing it through even if it could.

EDIT: Just saw your post above ... so yeah, even from the horses mouth, it's not going to happen.

Reading about Adams foot injury certainly has cooled him of for me. He would certainly need a thorough medical . Apparently a severe case of the Lefranc injury can influence any future athletic career.
Jason Dover on trade radio now.

Freo are like the drunk that fell into a vat of whiskey and doesn't know whether to drink or swim.

I hope Freo are reasonable.

In our trades, I can't think of a single trade where we are the ones that were campaigners. If the Bulldogs let him walk, it would be a fair trade.

I just can't believe after all the years that we have wanted players to come back to WA all of a sudden it is just happening.
Funny thing is that if the McCarthy deal had gone thru last year we would have been screwed.
The list managers must be very relieved and feeling very lucky. Also I think Bondy is a Scottish tight Arse and having take a lesser role in trade period is a master stroke.
The fyfe factor

You would take Adams over Hamling i would have thought. Adams has a booming kick and uses the ball very well, he would be more of the replacement for McPharlin i would think and he would be the best user of the ball of all of our KPD options.

Let him recover at the dogs for a year. Given the injury he'd probably get a bit of family leave if he needs it.
