Another club is in financial trouble. Maribyrnong Park football club in the Essendon district football league are $36,000 in the red. They owe $21,000 to creditors, and $15,000 in match payments to players. The players will not be paid until next year, while the club sorts out the creditors debt first.

The club also has struggled to get an under 16s side, and they get fined $150 every game they forfeit. It is round 14 or 15, and the club has played 3 under 16s games.

Their are too many clubs folding or merging. Somthing needs to be done very quickly.

You would reckon that the Essendon District FL would waiver the debt that Maribynong Park has incured because it its financial situation and its inability to field an under 16's team, it just seems pig-headed that the EDFL won't help out one of its member clubs when it's in trouble.

This happened last year in the DVFL when Kinglake asked to field a senior team only for season 2001, the Diamond Valley FL refused because under their rules, any senior teams have to field reserves teams, which is pissweak because they helped South Morang and Macleod/Rosanna when they were in trouble due to lack of numbers, Kinglake failed to be financial for the 2001 season and are in recess, they only field one under 13's team in the DVFL.

Maybe, Maribynong Park could join the Western Region F.L or the Ammo's to keep themselves viable, let's wait and see what happenes
