I don't see how Scully isn't considered one of them, it's the same as trading for Clark in that Mitch isn't the same person so is therefore a list change

You need to make three national draft selections minimum per year. Rookie upgrades count, anything else is irrelevant in terms of trades etc.

Surely Maric will get a go at another club, even if its on a rookie list. I'd be amazed if he didn't. It's not like he played like shit, he just didn't do quite enough.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but North apparently showed some interest in him during trade week, but didn't put a trade proposal to the Dees because they thought they could get him for nothing in the pre-season draft. I heard this on Trade Week Radio last week so it could easily be rubbish...

Good call. The guy never looked interested. Talented, but lazy and not the type who would fit in a 'zone' style gameplan, which Neeld will most likely bring to the table next year. A little unlucky in that he deserved a few more games to show his skills, but just never showed enough at VFL level to warrant getting too many more games than what he did.

I wish him no luck at another club however. I've never understood why we would wish him all the best for an opposition side? He never fitted in at Melbourne. Good riddance i say. The next de-listing will be a tough call though. Wona or Fitzpatrick??? Whoever it is will surely be put on our rookie list, but there could be a chance another club will take them! Will be a tough call from Neeld...

This news leaves us with one more delisting to make FROM THE SENIOR LIST. That will be either Wonaeamirri or Fitzpatrick, and I reckon they haven't yet decided which it will be - maybe they're waiting on some form of commitment from Wona re: not going home again next year.

Yes, I agree that the likes of Dunn, Bate and Spencer may have been delisted first in a perfect world, BUT GET IT IN YOUR HEADS THAT ALL 3 ARE CONTRACTED FOR NEXT YEAR. It's not going to happen.
As for Maric, it's unfortunate given how talented he is, but he was never going to pull his finger out by the looks.

Well Maric is a **** y little prick. I can tell you this for fact.

Still remember two years back just after the 2009 draft. Sitting in the gym talking to a few of his mates. Telling his mates that we drafted mids because all of ours were shit and no good. Always thought this was a bit rich considering he couldn't even get a game, yet he could pay out other players who were getting a game.

A few other guys I know that went to school with his at PEGS reckon his attitude was always 'I'm a f***ing star'. This is what he needs to realise that no he isn't even close to a star.


FWIW he didn't do much in the VFL, so why did everyone expect him to do it in the AFL?

Yeah I once spoke to a guy who knew him from school, apparently he did ONLY English in Year 12, purely so he could have a higher salary in the AFL - the rule is that if you've completed year 12 (and by that they mean you passed English) you get an extra 2k a year.
