With Perrie a certainty to miss next week I think we have two options.

1. Bring Ivan Maric in as a 2nd ruckman and play Biglands as a permanent forward

or

2. Bring Scott Stevens back to try and salvage his career

Personallly I want Ivan the terrible after watching today's game on the ABC, played a lot better than Scotty!

Any other options? Meeson? Gibson?

MARIC MARIC MARIC

Maric. Stevens should never wear a Crows jumper again. That said, next time he plays he'll kick 10 and I'll look like a goose again.

Bring in Ivan and plant Biglands up forward. I'm not sure whether Minson will be back or not, but either way the dogs have weak rucks with Darcy out so it would be a good chance to give Ivan a run. Plus I'd like to see us go with as many decent talls as possible, as hard as that may be at the moment with injuries. If we have Hentschel and Biglands up forward for the whole game it should at least be a worry for the dogs, who are missing a heap of their tall timber.

Jehrico ;)

On form alone it has to be Maric.

Stevens and Jericho stunk up the SANFL more than a Port supporter at a wine club (Joke my Tealed friends ;))

I am not sure we will bring in a tall against the Doggies. They are not a tall side and their forward line is made up of smalls. I even suspect that McGregor will go forward next week (I thought that even before Perrie injury). Rutten, Bassett and Hart can confortably cover Doggies "talls" (in terms of height) next week.

The game against Port will be a different story though.

Who does Rutten Man up on?

Dare I say we try him forward and the more mobile Hentshel down back?

I was thinking Grant but now that you mentioned it, that would be a pretty good move.

Yep, I was thinking that too. It would be a perfect week to try the big bloke up there...

Maric has been great this year and had another good game today, he can also play up forward... now with Perrie out we need a tall who can mark and goal.
We could rotate Maric, Biglands and Clark in the middle if need be as Maric has kicked a few goals this year, including a bag of 4 a couple of weeks ago.

He would have been a perfect call up with Mattner this week against the Bulldogs....sadly his form says NO!

No question - its time for Maric to debut.
Just needs a good game for Port this weekend ....anyone know how he went?

He was very good. Excellent in his 2nd, 3rd, 4th...nth efforts. Ok in the ruck and kicked one goal. Did ok to block up the space in defensive 50.

Pretty good game from Ivan The Terrible. He didn't do his chances any harm. :thumbsu:

Time is right then because Clark MUST need a rest.

For a man of his age he must be sore and appears to have an injury...so blood Maric against the Bulldogs who don't have dominant talls

Hmmm....wait until after Vince has played :D
Vince is not a TALL which is what we need to replace Perrie - and that is a group that we have no real depth in. It's time for Hentschell to stand up tall.

Do we need a tall against the Bulldogs who are a running team. Our team looked flat at stages tonight, maybe bring in Mattner and Vince for Perrie and Burton.

If we do bring a tall, Maric all the way.

I don't know how he looked on the telecast, but Scott Stevens stank it up at the ground. I wouldn't pick him again.

On Maric, just to offer an alternative view, I think he's accumulating the tools to be a good ruckman - he looks a better player this year than last year, he has good size, strong hands, good kick, bit of attitude ... but (you knew that was coming didn't you) I don't think he's ready yet for AFL. His execution of skills/decision making at SANFL level is questionable, and in the pressure cooker of AFL that could be expensive. And the doggies play the game at high velocity.

But if there was a choice between the two, it'd be Maric.
