I've said it on these boards again and again. Mark Blake is a confidence player if ever there was one, and now that he feels integral to the side for the first time in his career, he's started to play some very good football.

busy eating some humble pie forrest?

ho hum

geez let us all have a go when the bloke is playing against a cox, kruezer, brogan, lade, ho hum

he has NOT played a pivital role in a crunch game

where were you all against port, aha, not making a comment

Such faith

it is not about faith, it is about opinions, just like you have
faith would not have seen king traded

as stated a number of times, our ruck division is our achilles heel
we have the best onball division team, need someone in the ruck like a cox, and this team would have an awesome on ball division

Good to see Blake improving in his starts this year - people need to "take a cold shower" and stop the criticism - he's only a young guy and will get better - as Paul Chapman said last night on Footy Classified - what happened last year will do him good - "he will be better for it"

Have look at the stats from the last couple of week!!!!

and kruezer who is a baby when compared to the child was awesome
now that is talent

Kruezer is a number 1 draft pick - so he should be talented...Blake on the other hand is our 2nd ruckman. There arent too many 2nd string ruckman that are doing as well as he is right now. Brogan would be one i spose.

He might not be the most coordinated guy to pull on a pair boots, but the guy puts in!

He's obviously worked hard over summer, and shown a fair bit of spirit given the whole GF thing. I think he also has a positive effect on the other guys. They know what he went through, see that he's working hard, and want to win this year for him.

If nothing else, he's a great motivational tool.

Just found this article:

http://www.realfooty.com.au/news/geelong/the-accidental-hero/2008/04/11/1207856834249.html

On the second page it quotes the following:

Footy supporters don't mind a whinge, and the internet gives them a vehicle to sound off while hiding in cyber space. The supporter forum BigFooty carries as many negative Blake postings as positive - from Geelong fans - but one recent rant, which appeared after he and first-gamer Trent West were bettered by Port Adelaide's supreme ruck duo Brendon Lade and Dean Brogan in round one, encapsulated the knockers' beefs.

"Why do we put up with Mark Blake? I have never seen anything to suggest he will be a decent player. He cannot jump, he's not overly tall and he's got skills that would look ordinary in an Auskick game. The love that Geelong supporters have for Blake is similar to the love that people have for a three-legged dog."

The author of that little "tribute" was BigBadCam, although Blake's teammate Cameron Mooney would seem to be in the clear, judging by his central role in the on-field cheerleading; Blake needed all of his 200cm and 101kg to support a delirious Mooney after his famous first goal, against Richmond in round 18 last year.

Is this something personal between the 2 of u Forrest? Because you are not much of a "supporter" if you are personally attacking one of your team just because u think he isnt a good enough footballer...

oi

there are copious amounts written re byrnes, so let's get real
byrnes has played better than blake, and cops it

you can support a club, and be honest re the cattle

or do you expect supporters of clubs like wce to support players without question

Yeah, King was.

So much for making a point. All he did was justify the decision made in pissing him off.

Point: KING was a clear winner in the ruck, and justified being selected by St Kilda

Point: Blake was beaten

Point: KING showed why he would have added value to GFC, and they should not have traded him

Did Blakey bully you in school or something? He's as good as King is (at this stage in his career), and has plenty of good footy in front of him. Obviously King was the better ruckman by far in the past, but his body is gone, while Blakey can only improve. Choosing which of the two to keep was a no-brainer.
