Focused on the gym output and body conditioning, not his character whatsoever.

No, of course not. Describing someone's "effeminate body/nature" doesn't go after their character at all.

Well, the same match committee that can do no wrong have strangely chosen to keep him at the club. And get through not just one or two, but six pre-seasons. I'm guessing if there was any physical weakness it would have been pretty brutally exposed.

But hey, we'd have to ask the match committee that. They're the experts.

Horlin-Smith is actually able to be criticised, unlike Blicavs. He's also had to earn his spot, unlike Blicavs.

Who is Blitz competing against for a spot?

The coach has stated he is a unique player.

Inside mids, we have a list of them.

It was exposed.

Notice he is back in the ressies while they try walker?

Call it what you want, whatever drives people to succeed and improve and hit the gym harder than required, Brown does not have it.

I think this is gonna turn into a s**t storm.

Was I right or was I right. :D

At the moment it's really a moot point, with the number of players unavailable he's probably no worse then whoever may replace him.

Serious question I'd put to his more ardent supporters though is this, presuming he's not needed in the ruck (fingers crossed) is he more value as a winger/onballer then the likes of Smedts, Hunt, Caddy, Murdoch, Varcoe or GHS, because it's a couple of players of this standard he'll be competing against eventually.

Maybe Smedts (annoyingly) but not the rest of them.

I hope you've played at AFL level to make such an informed call on whether Brown is "soft".

Probably says more about your character than Brown's.

Im softer than Brown and have never played senior footy.

It makes no difference what you hope for.

If Nick Maxwell can outmuscle our chf, we need a new one or he needs to get a lot better a lot quicker.

The honeymoon period is over.

Originally he came into the side due to us being desperate for something resembling a ruckman. With McIntosh and Simpson now being locks when fit, he doesn't offer enough outside of being a chop out ruckman. He has upside given his inexperience, but his game should be developed in the 2s.

Twice? Well that's great- I couldn't remember how many times and erred on the maximum side of 3, so he's already gained points with me ;)

There were a few other times when he came dangerously close to being caught HTB. Every time he got the ball, he seemed to want to hold onto it and take the game on, but he just kept getting caught. Then there was that time he had the ball in forward 50, with plenty of time, but he just stood there until he was run down.

He needs to go back to the VFL so he can play in and learn a role consistently.

In most of his previous games, he's taken on his opponent and won the ball- managing to get his hands free and slot the handpass out. Port were very good with their tackles on him on Sunday- full credit to them.

I suspect any player who has come back from a broken leg and two busted shoulders might just have some degree of resilience. This goes for Vardy, Varcoe, McCarthy, and at the top of the list Menzel as well - anyone who was really soft would get shown up in their first pre-season. Let alone get through five or six of them.

I agree none of them are soft, it's just that some of them aren't hard.....If you know what I mean!

Well done Bobby.
You've got to like his hand balling under pressure.

And his ruck work was actually pretty good. Just inexperienced still and gets pushed around a bit.
Can't knock his endeavour.

Plenty here don't which is probably the bit I find most bizarre.

I'd say it's one of his better attributes, as well as the conscious striving to lift his arms up when tackled.

Not surprisingly the Port guys buried him at every opportunity on Sunday, which I suspect other teams will focus on as well.

all of his involvements from the weekends game against Port Adelaide

Great stuff. Actually looked better there than live at the ground.

And FFS, if that was a ruck infringement from which Lobbe kicked that goal the umpires are missing 50 per game.
