Kennedy was the perfect match up for Blicavs. I'm not sure there is an equivalent player at Adelaide - that is a taller, slow inside type mid. I suppose one of the Crouch's is the best bet but they are a bit more fleet footed than Kennedy. S.Selwood has to go to Sloane.

If he shuts out Sloane or one of the Crouch boys and we win, he will slowly take over the Orange Blanket gag we had going in 2007.
Ahem. Towel. It was a towel.

:D

Briiliant on kennedy the other night. Never seen him so curtailed. Hope they become our easybeats now.
Has to sit on m.crouch this week unless c.guthrie back. Otherwise a stronghold on douglas.
C'mon blitz. 2 blanket games more for 17.

That would be a bit left field, I would love that match up, but I am thinking M.Crouch as that bigger bodied inside mid type.

S.Selwood > Sloane
Blicavs > M.Crouch

Lonergan > Jenkins
Taylor > Walker
Stewart > Lynch
Bews > Betts

I actually think we match up pretty well against the Crows.

I would think Lonners on Walker and Harry on Jenkins would be a better match up.

Looking forward to them playing him KPD next year.

Let's face it he is not a midfielder. Can sometines do a job there but i don't see him as the sort of player that makes opposition coaches lose any sleep. At KPD we'll see if he is any good or not.

Quite simply, if he is not making use of his height there is no point having him play. Hope he carves out a career as a defender

He has something in common with a lot of our players.

Remember when GHS played that game against Kennedy.
Remember the time Stanley (at the saints) totally destroyed Fremantle.
Remember the time Blicavs tagged Pendles and Kennedy.

They are inconsistent players that shouldnt be anywhere near a finals team.

He should be traded or played as a depth player when we dont have any other options. He is a break glass in an emergency player, when there are no decent kids available to take the spot.

He cant ruck, he cant take contested marks, his disposal under pressure is horrible as is his decision making.

The last thing we need in defence is Blicavs.

Credit to him for talking on KROCK post game. Took a lot of belting on GFC behalf in interview and answered honestly and completely not more than 15 mins after game.

Also got his own performance questioned and he pointed out his areas of need to improve on and how to try and get there.
Had a poor game but to stand up and take the chin music for it was gutsy.

You were on the money there.

I'd trade him or Menegola. They both have a bit of currency, but they lack speed. We need more speed and nimbleness in the team. He's not a back up for a ruckman injury because he can't ruck. His indecisiveness with ball in hand is costly too. Both he and Menegola cost nothing as rookies and have become ok players. If we can trade them now to help us get something that suits our needs better, then I think that's a win for us.

Like it or not, having lost Domsy and Mack, a 198cm 98 kg bloke that can play all over the place aint getting traded.

Im not going to defend last night - or say he's a saviour or any of that shit - but he is useful and will having games like the Swans game.

Not going anywhere.

Menegola wasn't a rookie - he was taken with our second pick in the 2015 draft. Plus, Menegola signed a 3 year contract extension back in June - when was the last time we traded a player a couple of months after giving them a contract extension?

Did Scott front up?

I wonder if Blicavs is an addiction. A player who has a degree of flexibility but has no real outstanding qualities. 'Jack of all trades but master of none' I can see how coaches would see him as an asset, but it shows a defensive mindset that probably indicates a tendency to play safe. History shows that premierships are not won by timid hole plugging.

Seems to me they're in love with the concept (Olympic level fitness, versatility etc), and are blind to the fact he's not actually particularly effective at any one position. Plays the occasional good game but who doesn't.

We won't win a flag as long as he, Scooter and Menegola all play significant midfield minutes. Just too many one-paced B graders without sufficient skill and simposure.
