Chris Newman just said Nathan Brown will be playing his last game tonight. Heavy rumours Coughs is being let go as well.

Worth a punt in the PSD for us? Hard at midfielder...another pre-season might get the request run back into his legs?

Coughlan was a promising young player a long, long time ago, but his body appears to be in poorer shape than Richard Hadley's.

Another mid who battles to stay fit.

If Coughlan can't get a game for Richmond, why would we want him?

who's to say he didn't work out
not his best season, but who knows, he could come out firing next year, or even in the finals series

whats the point in coughlan, respect him for giving afl a crack after so many reconstructions, but not what we need. Carlton supporters seem to forget how good our midfield is.

we want the sort of sustained success that comes from good drafting......top organisations recognise their strenghts and play to them.......we appear to have a strength in the WH/SR team, let's use it.

To Coughlan's defense he was a gun who then suffered two knee recos, one during a game and the other cause he slipped in the shower, poor guy.

This year he has been on the outter as the Tigers have been trying to play youth, apart from Cousins, so he was never gettting a look in.

He had played a couple of games and has done ok, its not his fault he hasn't been getting a game its the fact the Tigers have been taking a different path with younger kids.

I think if his body was sound he is worth a punt, if his asking price was no more than the minimum.

That's the issue, his body isn't sound. He had an interrupted pre-season due to injury (if I remember rightly it was his hamstring/s) & he has lost quite a bit of pace as a result of his injuries. He would offer us nothing more than we already have in Hadley & Bentick & with Bentick potentially being delisted at the end of this season, I can't see us bringing in a similar player who is 3 years older than Bentick. It should not be forgotten that Coughlan's career best season was 6 years ago.

No thanks. I can't for the life of me think what he would add to our list. Jesus, if Richmond are delisting him, and they need all the talent they can get, and a favourite son at Punt Road, then his body must just be spent. I suspect he'll return to WA, and finish his career in the WAFL.

It's unlikely that he'll make it, but I'd rather give a chance to Ellard as the last man on our list ahead of a Coughlan, Hall, Robertson or Brown who have too many miles in their legs.

Ellard has worked hard and had a good year in the VFL in 2009.

Coughlan is about to be delisted by a team with the worst list in the competition.

Looked like he was going to be a very good footballer but his injuries render him next to useless in the modern game.

Good luck to him and if he manages to get picked up by another club and extend his AFL career then I wish him all the best, but it should not be in a team pushing for the top 4 next year and beyond.
